One thing that DOES annoy me is how Benavidez and his faithful bigging up Andrade....Benavidez is a -420 (ayo) for a reason...this isnt a 50/50 fight. Benavidez should win and in big fashion. But Benavidez fans need to relax (mostly on boxscene). Dude could have Plant (1 loss), Andrade (undefeated), Dirrell (1 loss), Gavril (1 loss), and JLeon Love by age 26. Its not an ATG resume by any stretch but its a great foundation...especially if it makes Canelo mandatory. Even if Canelo avoids the showdown there's still David Morrell and lots of fun fights w Munguia and/or Berlanga in addition to LHW where Bivol and Beterbiev reign supreme although I don't think Beterbiev can beat Bivol at this stage...was a big favorite for a long time but he's 38 now turning 39 in January. Bivol tank too much for that. Benavidez Bivol is a great fight but I favor Bivol
I plan on watching the Free YouTube undercard with Vicente vs. Yaqubov and Lipinets vs. Rivera. But then probably bail for the majority of the main card, Survivor Series is far more important. I might end up pausing Peacock to check out Ergashev vs. Matias, but that's about it.
Andrade by ugly UD. Andrade is gonna make Benavidez look bad...................he makes everyone look bad and off.
I'm watching the boxing first, then Survivor Series replay right after! This is a Super Saturday for sure.
Randy is who I wanted to see back the most anyway, so I'm pleased. As far as Punk goes, I wasn't getting my hopes up to begin with. Even though the possibility that he's the guy Nakamura is calling out, and it is in Chicago after all. But the chances of seeing Punk return IMO are growing slimmer by the day.
The dirt sheets are saying there's been zero communication between sides, but that could just be collusion/misdirection. Hunter knows what's best for business. And honestly, even if I tune in and there's no Punk, still think it's the better way to spend Saturday night than a freaking Boo Boo Andrade card.
Hunter knows what's best for business and I have no doubt that hearing all of the chants, he'd bring him back in a heartbeat. But he still has his overlords to listen to, and I doubt any of them have changed their minds. No matter how many fans scream for him, at this point, he's seen as just too toxic. That being said, I really really really hope I'm wrong. You forgot the one silver lining... Boo Boo's finally getting knocked the **** out on Saturday.
Once upon a time it would have tugged at my heartstrings that it's an "end of an era" broadcast, the last ever Showtime boxing PPV (and perhaps boxing card, period?) - but honestly, this isn't 1% as nostalgic for me as HBO winding down. This card is better than Cecilia Brækhus vs. Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes (the actual last HBO show, going out with a whimper) but not a freckle on the ass of GGG vs. Canelo II (HBO's last PPV).
I think that Andrade has left things too late. This is his first big fight and he is 35 years old. I think it might be competitive for the first 6 rounds before Benavidez takes over and stops him somewhere between rounds 9 and 12
Benavidez will never fight Morrell Jr. The day he's forced to fight Morrell Jr is the day he stops sticking his finger down his throat in an effort to stay at 168 lbs. Canelo? Obviously. Berlanga? Sure. Munguia? Probably. But not Morrell Jr. As good as Benavidez is (and I do think he's good) - he's not the kind of special that Morrell Jr. appears to be. Just my opinion.
I haven’t seen Boo Boo fight in a while, so I have no idea what he’s like at 168, but just using my logic, a fleet-footed fighter who started at 154 and is now 35 and fighting at 168, who wasn’t a big puncher to begin with, well it’s not looking good for him. I’ll even say that David will have an easier time with him than with Plant. I'm not a David fanboy, but I’m thinking he should get him out of there around 6-9.
