Had they lost, it was career over.

Additionally, which win turned around a fighters career?

Tyszu against Mitchell in the first fight. Sharmba was a very live dog against Kostya, and even gave Tyszu some scary moments.

Holyfield beating Tyson in 96. Holyfield was written off by almost every sport writer and boxing "expert" going into the first fight, it was one of the top 5-10 biggest upsets in boxing history.

Another one was Vernon Forrest against Sergio Mora in the rematch.

    Fury vs Ngannou.
Had he lost, we fans of boxing would've formed a posse, gone to Britain and demand he be brought to council, tried, and hung for the crime of shame he would've brought to us.

Toney was still a legitimate contender.

He lost in the eyes of much of the public, an absolute farce.

Duran's massacre of Davey Moore, after No Mas and the Benitez and Laing losses he was presumed to be on the road to washed.

The draw against Pacquiao saved Marquez's career.

Nah i don't think so even if Marquez had lost the decision he would've got a rematch at some point because the fight was so memorable.

A loss to Pacquiao in the 1st fight doesn't hurt JMM's standing at all.

    Dereck Chisora v Takam

unfortunately, that shock KO win brought us about 20 more appearances for Delboy on our screens

Steve Robinson was a 13-9 nobody who was a late 24 hour replacement, then ended up winning the Featherweight title and making 7 title defences quite a turn around.

Fritizie Zivic lost like 7 fights in a row ? then upset's the great Henry Armstrong.

Pipino Cuevas was 15-6 and was coming off a loss, then wins the Welterweight title and defends it 11 times amazing turn around.

Quirino Garcia lost his first 18 professional fights but ended up with a a record of 40-28, with notable wins over Meldrick Taylor, Simon Brown. I'm not sure what fight turned it around for him though.

Johnny Nelson had a modest 31-12 record and didn't really make it as a Heavyweight, his win over Carl Thompson won him the Cruiserweight title and he never lost another fight after that.

Mosely beating Margarito rejuvenated Mosely and also finished Margarito.

Hopkins beating Pavlik. They said he was finished, then he puts on an absolute clinic. That stare B-Hop gave the press row was one of my favorite moments.
