I had a bet on here years ago with Mendoza about whether the Fitzsimmons v Ruhlin fight was filmed.I said it wasnt and that the camera failed to work. This was confirmed by Adam Pollack.Gilbert Odd ,and Ted Spoon.
Mendoza said as they made a re enactment that counted as the fight being filmed and reneged on the bet.
I've been in Paris for 4 days ,so I have only just seen his post on another forum, where he is Dr Z.
These are fights he says were filmed and that this was confirmed by Steve Compton aka Klompton.
Here is the list Dr Z says were filmed but are now lost.He attaches Steve Compton's name to them as confirmation, anyone have any info on the Fitz v Ruhlin fight being filmed?

This is from a list I keep of lost boxing films that I posted at some point but someone has made some additions to it which arent mine. I dont think Ive ever confirmed that the Greb-Dempsey sparring session was filmed and as such I wouldnt include it on my list. Dempsey sparring Tommy Loughran is not lost. Its actually quite common and as such it wouldnt be on my list either. In addition to that since this list was first posted I have found several of these films and as such would remove them as well.

As far as my inclusion of Fitzsimmons-Ruhlin that is likely based on the re-enactment which was filmed on top of a building by S. Lubin using the fighters. I typically dont include re-enactments in my list because they often used actors, not the real fighters, but this fight was different and there are several photographs to prove the re-enactment was filmed using the actual fighters. Id have to go back and research whether the actual fight was successfully filmed or not but my very hazy memory tells me it wasnt.

Why should anyone care about OP’s arguments on another forum?

If Klompton is your ‘lifeline’ while you’re in Paris wasting time arguing online, just DM him.

You mention a poster banned from here and then post material he’s posting on another forum. If he’s banned here, leave his stuff off this forum and go play with him on the other forum.

Was there film of the McVey - Mendoza bout, or non-bout, that was supposed to take place at an airport?

IMO, Mendoza didn't reneg, unless you and he had previously agreed on just what was meant by "filmed."

If you (McVey) meant something was produced which could be reasonably put before the public as 'worth their cash' "Fitzsimmons v. Ruhlin', McVey won.

But Mendoza could say it WAS filmed but, sadly, the resultant film was not commercially viable. If what you'd meant was that the film was, in any way and at all, without qualification of commercial viability, filmed, then Mendoza won.

If you weren't EXACT about what 'filmed' constituted, the bet may rightly be called off.

    -----------------

That being said, it would be a (too far) stretch to count a re-enactment as THE FIGHT.

I think you may have posted this on the wrong forum Mcvey, Dr. Z is on Boxing Scene.

Also, it's a shame it wasn't filmed cuz it's a fight I'd definitely want footage of.

None of the real fight was filmed, the camera refused to work..As Klompton has said S Lubin made a re -enactment with the fighters and tried to pass it off as the real thing .Ruhlin had to wear stage make up to cover up his bruises.
Jim Corbett had been Ruhlin's second but had returned to San Francisco and refused to participate in the sham fight.
When it was noticed that Corbett was not in the corner for the re-enactment the game was up.

Fitz had given Ruhlin a bad beating and Gus was not allowed to leave the arena [MSG] until the next afternoon.A doctor stayed with him all night,as he lapsed in and out of consciousness.
Ruhlin then went to his manager's house to recuperate.

    That’s funny.

Did you not, on the same “other” forum where you were arguing with Mendoza, proclaim that you’re a VIP here and cite how many likes you have as some sort of proof of your superiority, lol? (When I saw your post I did a google to see if this could possibly be true, that you and Mendoza are still having your ‘1,000-year-war’ all across the boxing internet — and there are literally people over there asking you to please give it up to stop ruining threads with your arguments.)

Who the heck argues with the same person across multiple forums for years, runs from forum to forum for ammunition to try to ‘one up’ the person they are arguing with, and does so while vacationing in Paris?

There’s something very wrong with this picture, but how about start with keeping your arguments with people who are banned from this forum over on the other forums where they belong rather than trying to drag Classic into feeding your sickness.

I made no posts whilst in Paris and never used a pc while I was there.I asked posters on here for any input they may be able to give nothing more ,nothing less.
    I don't need ammunition from anyone ,
I've always found myself more than capable of holding my own in an argument.

I didn't proclaim anything ,I said in reply to a poster saying this Forum was full of adverts that I am a VIP poster and that means I don't have to see the adverts,it certainly doesn't mean I myself am any kind of VIP. I've always thought of myself as an average poster and have always described myself as such.

The likes I mentioned to a poster on the other forum was as a response to him and BTW it wasn't Mendoza.

There is something very wrong with you. Slavering over my posts with a magnifying glass looking to pull them apart.

I'm not looking for arguments with anyone, and that includes YOU .

On the contrary it has invariably been YOU attacking ME..
Your opinion means as much to me as dog ****,so obviously I would never solicit it.
How about you stop stalking me?

Your fixation with my posts is becoming weird.
Now you are following me to another forum to read what I post there ?
Who is the obsessive one ?
    Who has a sickness?
You object to me posting there and posting on the same subject here?
What have you done but quote posts from there?
I'm sorry Klompton has reamed your butt out so painfully, but take it up with him,I'm really not interested.
I don't dig you out, so why you have fixed your sights on me I don't know?
You don't like me? Fine you are entitled to you opinion.
You have nothing to contribute to the subject of the thread ie Fitz v Ruhlin you just want to have a go at me ?
Okay, fill your boots.you've had two goes on this thread alone!
Then perhaps we can give each other a miss?

Seems you’re having a problem with the truth here.

Yes, you did come at me on the Graziano thread several times telling me I shouldn’t post in it and should instead start another thread because I replied to a post of yours with some context comparing Rocky fighting welters to how many times Jake LaMotta did it while weighing considerably more.

And on the other site, here’s what you posted earlier this month. It had nothing to do with ads — it was in response to someone saying ‘You two idiots (referring to you and Mendoza, who had gotten into a continuation of your years-long spat) ruin every thread you post in and you did it in multiple boxing sites” — does this refresh your memory?

You: “I'm on 4 boxing sites but post regularly on only this one and Classic ESB where I am a VIP member with currently 23,750 likes.
“If you post on there,as you have implied, how many likes have you accrued?
“I resumed posting on here about 16 months ago,and it appears my previous activity here gave me over double the likes you managed in the past.
“It would therefore appear your unasked for opinion is not the consensus .”

So you don’t go looking for arguments yet you claim ‘internet cred’ by likes and tell someone their opinion is not wanted?

Don’t bring your fights on another site to this one. It’s bad form. Nobody cares whether you or Mendoza ‘wins’ your arguments. You could have DM’d Klompton but instead you started this thread. Well, I replied to it, whether my opinion is asked for or not.

You didn’t limit the topic to Fritz vs. Ruhlin. In your OP, you cited Mendoza and your argument with him on another forum and then posted a block quoting something he posted and asked for help. That’s what you invited discussion on … so I’m discussing it.

That’s nowhere near as weird as your obsession with bringing your Mendoza spats over here (not for the first time).

I misread on you posting from Paris. I’m glad you didn’t obsess over Mendoza while there, but the first thing you do upon returning is go find out what he posted so you could bring it over here. That, my friend, is a weird obsession, along with your constantly citing and reaching out to Klompton. Strange bedfellows and all.

I dont have a problem with the truth just with ---------------
Nope I never once said you shouldnt post in it,you just made that up.
I suggested you make a thread about Lamotta being ,as you put it a weight bully. That is totally different to telling you not to post on the thread that was current.
You left out me asking that poster who he was on this forum?

Me asking him to reveal who he was.Which of course he did not do.
I think I know who he is on here now though!

No.I don't go looking for arguments ,but neither do I run away form them neither on the internet or in real life.
No you are not discussing the subject of my thread in fact you haven't once referred to it. Because you are not interested in it .what you are interested in is using it as a stick to beat me with, and we both know it don't we.
I don't get on with Klompton and so would not message him,as I said before we dislike each other,as I also said, I do respect his knowledge of the sport.
You I don't respect,I find you a pedantic, nitpicking ,childish, dog in the manger rectum of a poster and thats my polite opinion ,No doubt the feeling is mutual.
Bad form? Who set you up as the etiquette policeman Mooshashi?

You are the poster copying my input from another forum and posting it here,do you have mental health problems?
Now if you like, as you seem determined to repost here what I have posted on another forum.I could copy and paste them for you and pm you with them to save you going there and bringing them here and also save others having to wade through them.

I didn't want or seek this argument ,but you were bound and determined to have it weren't you.
Well we have had it ,and as far as I'm concerned its done ,if you feel compelled to continue it do so, but be advised you will be on your own, because you are not worth getting banned over, your posts aren't worth a cup of cold dogs **** and ,well you know what follows .

    End of.
