    than what they became...

When I first saw Yuriorkis Gamboa, I thought we would eventually see him as a star, a top 5 p4p and someday inducted in the the Hall of Fame and all that...
Did not happen, he had belts and all but he never achieved what I thought he would......

    So, how about you ?

I really thought my man Edwin Rosario would blossom further. Apparently he drank a lot among other things. He did have a damn good career all told, just not what it could have been.

Oh but he is regarded as a great fighter. I thought Kermit Cintron was going to be a great, I was noob back then sure, and Cintron hit so hard, Margarito opened my eyes though. Now, knowing what we know today, was Margarito fighting clean in those two fights ??

He's highly regarded but at one time he was considered to be the next Roberto Duran at 135 and by a great many people. He actually fell a long long way short of expectations Vic.

I'm not sure on the second point tbh.

Bruce seldon looked pretty ferocious the first time I saw him as a prospect. But that quickly went away

I thought Edwin Valero was going to be a star to the level of Pacquiao... but I guess it´s not my fault that Valero was a ****ing ******* murdering *****.

I can see that, sure. I guess the loss to Ramirez made things confused and potentially ruined him for later...

DeAndre Latimore. He was a St louis wrecking ball nicknamed the baby bull that looked like he was going to run over everyone in his path but it was not to be. He had some losses that he never rebounded from and he ultimately ended up a Floyd Mayweather sparring partner.

He was super skilled, something wasn't right with him on the other aspects of fighting though.

I had Buddy that trained with Alex Stewart said he was incredible in the gym so I kept my eye out for him but he always looked like he was having panic attack in the ring in his biggest fights.

I expected more of Wayne McCullough and Zab Judah. Judah no shame in losing to Tszyu but losing to Cory Spinks and then Carlos baldomir I thought talent wise he should have won easily but it’s more than talent in this sport. McCullough I was high on and had several guests over for the Zaragoza fight never believing he would lose that bout.

Abdullaev. Thought william guthrie was going to be a strong force until Johnson starched him. Humberto Gonzales was another. Probably the biggest, to me anyway, was Mark Breland. Thought with that size and reach and amatuer pedigree he'd be a champion for a long time.

Cristian Mijares was highly regarded around these parts prior to him being dismantled by Vic Darchinyan in a unification bout at Super Fly. He would go on to win a few straps afterwards, but he never reached the dizzy heights that many thought he would.

Well he’s still current (I think) but I thought Andy Ruiz Jr was destined for greater things after he destroyed Anthony Joshua.

I wasn’t knee jerking, I simply liked his super fast hands with serious pop and respectable durability. With those tools, I thought he would’ve moved further than he did after blowing away AJ.
