sometimes though, they could still be great, but Life got in the way i.e Health, Injury, Timing, Family, Circumstance and/or Boxing Corruption, so some fighters might very be every bit as great the fighters they always were/are...

now as to what I believe the Post is asking for, lost it in the Ring, in Fights, well there must be a Ton of them... but Two HWs come to mind in Donovan Ruddock and Dominic Guinn, they looked as though they should have been more.

Good call. When there was plenty of Mercer-Morrison-Bowe chat for a while i thought Seldon might be better than them all. Nearly as bad as my Samuel Peter call.

Yeah, I thought Ruddock could be one of he main HWs of the 90's, but was already a spent force not even three years in.

Edison Miranda, huge puncher, thought he got dicked against Abraham with a bunch of phantom low blow Point deductions

He was in a final eliminator to fight Jermaine Taylor who I thought he was gonna ko. Couldn't get by Pavlik before his career derailed

I ****ing loved Miranda. But without being pretentious, I never thought he would be something special.

For all his shortcomings he was an impressive physical specimen. Had a good team training and managing him and they kept him busy. But he lacked the chin and defense. Seemed to lack in heart too

He could have been a modern version of Rodrigo Valdez if a thing or two were different...

I thought Antonio Esparragoza would achieve a lot more than he did. He had the tools and talent, at his best looked reminiscent of Arguello, but seemed to go from being a top 3 pfp fighter to obscurity in no time.

Audley Harrison. I watched him win Olympic gold (on tv) and turn pro. I really thought - especially as Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield etc were getting close to retirement - he would win a world title and be a star. He had good amateur pedigree and was a good talker. If I recall correctly, he was featured in Ring magazine (early 2000s) as a top heavyweight prospect.
But he seemed to stall and never really progressed beyond European level, eventually becoming knockout fodder for up and coming prospects.
I sometimes wonder if he wasn't that good after all, perhaps didn't quite know-how to transition from amateur to pro. Or even if he'd stayed in the unpaid ranks too long. Just my two cents.

Displaying some obvious bias toward home grown talent but I hoped that Shannan Taylor, The Bulli Blaster, would go further than he did.

I really liked his double left hook 1) to the body/liver and 2) straight up to the now unprotected chin. Very nice execution.

Showed some great moxie vs Mosley but Sugar Shane was simply too much - elite speed aided and abetted by power absolutely kills.

Troy Waters (gave Norris a good scare) born in the UK, was another who started out extremely promising. Sadly Troy passed several years back at a far too young 53 years of age.
