I don't believe that Benavidez is a weight bully.

Yes, he looks tall for 168, but he doesn't have much muscle tone. His arms are long and lean. He doesn't have broad shoulders and his upper body is fairly lean. He's nothing like Ramirez, who has broad shoulders and a bigger frame.

He missed weight once in his career and it was probably due to lack of proper training. Ever since then, he was able to make weight easily and coming in at 167 many times. A weight bully wouldn't come in a whole pound under on a consistent basis.

David is just tall and lean. He is not muscular, and it doesn't look like he's draining himself. He can probably move up to 175, but I don't believe he is a weight bully.

Here is a photo of Benavidez standing next to Andrade. You can clearly tell that he doesn't have a big upper body.

No one walks around at their fighting weight. If you make weight you make weight. You are only a weight bully if you don't make weight and pay the other guy to still fight you.

    I believe weight bullies exist.

Fighters that spend a disproportionate amount of resources on making weight classes, relative to their opposition, usually at the expense of their overall health, and constantly outweigh their opponents on fight night, while often relying on the advantages being bigger give them, are weight bullies, imo.

As for Videz, it's hard to say if he is or not. He didn't look super drained at the weigh in, and we don't know their fight night weights.

    Meaningless side note.

Have a boxing coworker who is slightly slightly bigger than me. I'm 5'10 and a trim 195lbs. He has some pictures with David and David completely dwarfs him lol. And it's not just height, it's frame, head, neck, ect.

Dudes huge. Crazy to me that I'm a relatively skinny 195lbs, and I'd have to drop almost 30lbs just to be a midget against 168lbs'ers lol.

Benavidez is actually quite big, well built, naturally athletic without too many muscles and that suits him...

Pro boxers don't carry a lot of muscle mass at all. They actually try to lose mass without sacrificing strength. A big puffed up 200 pound bodybuilder will look small next to a world class Supermiddleweight.

Andrade was a weight bully at 160lbs and is very big himself. Benavidez IS a weight bully at 168lbs.

You cannot be skinny at 5'10 195. That's a big weight for a 5'10 guy.

If you are 200 pounds and drop down to 168 to beat up guys who are naturally 170, max 180, you ARE a weight bully.
