Yes. But only if he really dominates Usyk and knocks him out or beats him to a 120-108 UD. A controversial SD that could go either way won't do. After all, Usyk is just a middleweight with a glass belly. It's a normal expectation from the greatest fighter ever to win every round against him and/or knock him out.

100% redeems himself even with just a victory. But I don’t see it happening, fury is finished

Because currently nobody knows if ngannou was an 1:1000000 one time lucky wonder or if the impossible happened and ngannou is indeed plug and play highly dangerous for any hw .

Nobody wants to be the first to send in a valuable boxer against ngannou to find out .

I think it's obvious he didn't take the fight seriously and also has an idiot trainer who feeds him nonsense and encourages poor weight management and a dangerous style. Suffice to say he didn't exactly prepare like he did for Wlad or Wilder I.

I feel like there's a good chance Fury beats Usyk and a lot of people will be in fits if that happens, even though Fury should really be the favourite due to the massive size advantage. I'm not convinced Fury does win due to his age now and some signs he can't get into proper shape, plus his idiot trainer, but I think he will try very hard out of fear of losing.

I find it weird the Fury haters give him no chance in this fight. Maybe they guess right, but it's definitely not logical to write off Fury against the much smaller man who isn't packing big HW power.

If Fury beats Usyk he is the undisputed best in the division.

He's ranked by the WBC, if you can beat him you're knocking on the door of a fight with Fury, Wilder, or AJ.

He offers as much reward as anyone without a belt.

If Ngannou boxes again though he's going to be extremely selective. If he loses to Franklin or Ajagba or something he's done.

In the long run everyone remembers wins. No one remembers that the loser was old/robbed/injured/etc.

Your legacy is ultimately who you beat. If Fury retires today history will remember the guy who beat Wlad and Wilder, not the guy who should have lost to John McDermott.

I guess it depends on how you rated Fury prior to the Ngannou fight. Because that is the level he would have to get back to.
Personally, I became very tired of the big talk, less than stellar competition, money grab fights etc. So his stock was quite low, for me. Frustrating as he obviously is capable of great things. So, based on my assessment of where he was at the beginning of the year, yes he would redeem himself * to a degree * by beating Usyk convincingly. But it still doesn't completely erase the damage Fury has done to his own reputation - and boxing in general - over the last few years. He could have (and should have) done so, so much more.
Personally, I have absolutely no interest in an Ngannou rematch (just as I didn't in the first fight). As much as I like Francis, I think it's clear that Fury took the fight lightly against a man making his professional debut. I don't see that a rematch does anything over than hold up the division and delay Fury (who is getting older) from taking more pertinent fights which will improve his legacy.
For me, and returning to the question, his only route to true redemption (and indeed, heavyweight greatness) is by beating other top level fighters (not just Usyk) - and up and comers - which is what he should have been doing all along.
But I fear he has run out of time.

    That's the thing, you aren't.

If you beat him you've got a victory over someone who is 0-2.

No. What's done is done. He looked terrible against a novice boxer who suspiciously was also the first opponent of Fury's size. Him beating Usyk would be a good victory but Usyk was always an average sized Cruiserweight who is punching way above his weight currently. He is smaller than Holyfield ffs.

When it comes to the fury - ngannou discussion i think some here make the big mistake imagining that fury struggled against a novice alias the amateur next door who knows very little about combat sports at all so fury must be the ultimative bum .

Ngannou is surely not the amateur next door and in fact there is reason to believe on this evening many other pro hw boxers would get knocked out by ngannou .
