Teo turns down $1.5M for Ryan Garcia

Thats. huge lowball. He made over 2 million for the Taylor fight.

 

This is absolutely a duck; Teo clearly hates free money (he'd easily beat Ryan).

And everyone saying "low ball" can jump off a bridge. Teo isn't that big a draw, and this fight would clearly go on PPV; the "big money" would come on the PPV backend, which the distributors/promoters could give you if the operational costs are low. Take the money, the PPV back end, eat Ryan, and increase your brand you dolt. If you absolutely had to, see if you could bump them up to 2 million even.

But no, I see how not fighting again this year or having anything scheduled is so much better. I'm sure Jose Ramirez would be so much better for his pocketbook.

 

That's a peasants wage for Teo, think about after taxes and camp/trainer fees its not even half that.

 

There are a lot of examples in this sport of fighters who have taken short money to then renegotiate for more money. If you have a viral Kayo of Ryan and give a great post fight interview, you can demand a lot more for a superfight against someone like Tank/Devin. There are huge names around 140 and it's worth it for Teo to take out someone like Ryan who I see as a very easy fight for him.

 

Teo could beat Garcia for 1.5m on the Saturday afternoon and then fight Matias in the evening, that's the fight we want.

 

Clearly not, he didn't make the fight with his offer.

 

Ok so why did Lopez turn it down?

Because regardless of what the "finance fans" of this board think, ranking and championships actually mean something.

 

He has a legit belt. Should be getting a split even if it’s the lower end

 

It isn't unfortunate, Teo is the champ.

Garcia has only ever beaten one world ranked opponent in Luke Campbell, he hasn't come close to beating a world champion, and if he keeps playing pretend A Side he'll never even get the opportunity to do so.

This pretend **** was never gonna wash with Teo, Garcia should have tried with someone else.

 

If any is to blame for gifting Teo the decision in the Loma fight, it is most definitely Loma himself. You can't holster your fists for damn near 7 rounds and complain about not getting the decision. No gift or robbery.

 

The reality is, he is. A side is about bringing views. None of the others are doing it.

 

I don’t believe for a second that Teo would be offered a purse that low for Ryan.
