    Calzaghe's best wins....

    RJJ Shot
    Hopkins old but still good
    Eubank past but still good
    Lacy
    Reid
    Woodhall
    Kessler
    Veit
    Bika
    Brewer
    Mitchell

21 title defences at Super Middleweight and won Lineal Light Heavyweight title.

    Golovkin's best wins.....

Brook a mismatch because he isn't Middleweight
    Jacobs
    Lemieux
    Derevyanchenko
    Murray
    Geale
    Macklin
    Monroe Jr
    Rubio
    Martirosyan

    22 title defences at Middleweight.

I give the edge to Calzaghe neither man's reign was filled with great names, but Calzaghe had success in two different weightclasses Golovkin didn't. Plus Calzaghe retired unbeaten which gives him the slight edge aswell.

Had Golovkin beat Canelo in their series it could've been a different story.

Good post. Think GGG edged the first 2 out with Canelo but they were very close

I had Golovkin edging their 1st fight 115-113 and the 2nd fight a draw.

Ya that's fair. Clazaghe never faced anyone at Canelos caliber. Hopkins was very good still but at LHW and 40

Yeah the Canelo fights are the tiebreaker had Golovkin got the nod in those fights his resume would look at whole lot different. And whilst i think the 1st fight he was unlucky not to get the nod i have no problem with Canelo winning the other fights.

And yes Hopkins was old but he did age like fine wine to be fair, and he did have good performances at Light Heavyweight prior to facing Calzaghe aka Tarver. And had good performances after losing to Calzaghe aka Pavlik, Pascal, so despite his age i still rate it as a good win for Calzaghe.

It was a good win for Calzaghe although some had Hopkins winning, however I didn't. I thought Calzaghe won

It was close i don't think i've ever scored it properly i don't really want to watch it again TBH as it was an ugly fight, but i remember Hopkins scored the knockdown early and had a lead in the first 6 rounds. But kind of faded down the stretch and Calzaghe probably edged it based on that and his activity.

GGG’s resume is hard done by what most believe is an unfair draw with Canelo. I felt he clearly won the first fight and the second one is a toss up. This win would be better than anything on Calzaghe’s. However I think overall Joe had the better career.

Golovkin was robbed blind in the first Canelo fight, but even if he'd got the decision i'd still put Calzaghe ahead of him.

I think this is harsh considering he was fighting someone who it's been virtually impossible to beat on points unless you win virtually every round due to incredible rallies by the judges. This is a guy who barely won a minute vs Mayweather, yet managed to convince three judges that he won 13 of the 36 completed rounds . His other 'loss' was another judging farce.

Very close. Had I felt he clearly deserved any of the Canelo fights I'd probably voted for GGG.

It should also be noted that GGG:s best wins were very close, while Calzaghe clearly beat Kessler.

Do you not think he clearly deserved the first fight?

Man I like both these guys. On "name" value it's got to be Calzaghe but Golovkin probably beat better fighters when he himself was older. It's a bit of a pickem.
