Is Floyd Mayweather overrated?

Dude...are you actually agreeing with him on that BS?? Floyd fought for 7 years at 130 -135. 11 years 140 to 154. Do you think Floyd was actually SMALLER then hatton???

 

How in the hell was he going to make more money in the uk??? Stop!

Hatton ducked pbf at 140 after pbf beat gatti and Hatton beat Kostya. Hattons team flat turned pbf down so he moved up. Pbf was the ring champ at 147 why in the hell would he move back down in weight to fight a guy who ducked him when he was at 140 who denied him a chance to be ring champ there? Not only that Hatton called him out on live TV and had no problems moving to 147. You're just an excuse maker who just doesn't like the man.

 

He was outweighed by Hatton on fight night. Hatton weighed more in the ring at 140 on fight night than pbf did in the ring at 147. Hatton didn't make any excuses so why is everyone else? Hatton also said he preferred to fight pbf at 147 than 140 because he wouldn't have to spend as much time in camp cutting weight but instead focus more on actual training he claimed he would be the stronger man in the ring when they fought so weight wouldn't matter.

 

Weight is NOT the only factor of size. Hell, i'm 5'10 172 pounds. No one in their right mind would consider me bigger than Andre Ward at 6' and 168.

I understand but Hatton called pbf out and wanted to fight at 147 he fought Collazo there before he fought pbf. Hatton is a stocky thick guy for his size pbf is more lean and skinny.

 

And only one of them was any good at 147.

 

Doesn't necessarily mean it was about size pbf was just better than Hatton. Pac is smaller than both and he beat Hatton as well.

 

He made the most money because of the era he fought in & his opponents, don't know why Floyd fans always bring up money without context

May be Caleb Plant might have made more money (even adjusting for inflation) than Henry Armstrong (who only had radio & live gate to help him out) did just based on his reported purse for the Canelo fight, so what?

Are we to believe that Ali & Mike Tyson wouldn't have made more than Floyd if they fought in an era where TV was almost universal & PPV's the norm for big fights. When it comes to stardom, Floyd is nowhere close to either of them & they would have out earned him massively

His highest selling PPV's came against ODLH, Pac, McGregor (biggest star so far in his own sport), & Canelo. It takes 2 to tango, if not then he would have been pulling the same huge PPV numbers against Berto

 

He pulled in big numbers with Cotto Hatton and Mosely as well. The man was a certified draw to deny it is ridiculous.

 

Who denied that he was a big draw? Hatton was a big draw as well in UK btw. Just pointing out that a big part of his biggest PPV hits came due to his opponents as well

Why always bang on about money without mentioning the context in all time discussions. He was lucky enough to be born in an era where PPV & TV were the norm, if Ali or Mike Tyson fought in that era then their earnings would be so much bigger than Floyd's that it would blow peoples minds

Mayweather literally weighed in the 140s in the ring as a Welterweight.

He regularly weighed the WW limits WEEKS before fights.

Hatton on the other hand emaciated to make 140 and literally looked like a famine victim on the scales before getting in the ring in the mid 150s.

He had shorter limbs but was much more strongly built. His legs, neck, shoulders were all far more muscular than Mayweathers
