Adam Smith breaks silence - LEAVES Sky Sports

the good thing about Costello is that he just speaks in one tone, so he’s easy to tune out. bombastic clowns like your Bunces, your Tessitores, your Ranallos are more difficult to ignore

 

He comes across a nice fella but Costello just isn’t suited to live viewing. Get Smith in.

 

Sky sports used to have that RINGSIDE program I really liked. They don't do anything like that anymore.

Just the occasional non box office cards and that's about it.

Everything sky does now is just full woke and dull.. look at soccer Saturday program now FFS. I'd rather have the ceefax days back than watch that crap.

 

Ringside was fantastic. DeGale and Groves and then Groves and Froch particularly memorable ones

 

Khan n brook was good too.

 

It wasn't just the confrontations though. They had good deeper-dive specials with Leonard, Holmes, Holyfield, Hatton, Benn, Eubank... all on YouTube and worth a watch.

 

Why have sky cancelled it?

Probably another reason people have cancelled sky

 

They started branching out with "Toe to Toe" as another show (or "Ter to Ter" as the awful presenter used to say), and of course have got heavily into women's boxing, so I guess it's just a change of plan overall. Adam and Johnny no longer what's wanted.

 

You can't have interviews or programs like that these days, one wrong word, career over, if someone on the show went "men are stronger than women" they'd have there contract cancelled

Woman's boxing really isn't as good

 

I like Adam Smith as a boxing presenter. He would be a good pundit too imo. When he commentates, he talks too much about the fighters backstory's, instead of commentating on the fight! Be nice to see him involved in the sport, as he clearly loves it and is knowledgeable.

 

Adam Smith should consider becoming a boxing manager. He clearly knows the game inside out. Knows about commercial deals, including a fighters TV value and matchmaking. He knows all the promoters well and about building profiles.

 

I would like to see Adam Smith hired as the new main commentator on DAZN UK.

Costello speaks in the same monotone voice throughout. A commentator's task is to build up the atmosphere around an event and Adam Smith is the perfect person to fill that role.

 

Bit racist, mate.
