Overrated by his fans who think hes an invincible god that beats everyone in the history of the sport (around his weight class) easily. Underrated by haters who say all he does is run. He's a very polarizing figure if you think about it. The truth is somewhere in the middle of these two sentiments. Personally, id say he's a top 20 ATG

Floyd is an ATG, he would be the greatest fighter in many different era's but unluckily for him he fought in the same era as Pacquiao, so there is no shame being the 2nd greatest fighter of his era behind a guy like Pacquiao.
Cmon CJ. He’s definitely top 50. I hate the guy and disliked watching his fights once his hands were made of paper mache. I only tuned in with the faintest of hope he would be murked by one of his opponents. But there is no denying his accomplishments. He is a lock for top 50, and probably will as time goes on become a lock for the top 15-20 if not higher. Personally, I have him at 18.

Anybody can be overrated. It depends what you’re claiming. We all know about Floyd. He was one the greatest fighters of all time. But his career was split into 2 parts. The first half of his career was solely focused on getting to the top. The second half of his career was solely focused on retiring unbeaten, and minimising the risk but for the most reward. Floyd became a businessman more than a fighter. Regarding what you’ve said, the only thing I disagree with is your criticism of him not fighting abroad. He didn’t need to fight abroad. He was in a position of power.
To be fair, he’d just fought Oscar at JMW. So there was no way that he was going back to LWW afterwards to fight Hatton. It was also a Vegas fight. It wouldn’t have made more in the U.K.

Floyd can’t be criticised for not dropping back to 140 to fight Hatton. And especially as he’d just fought Oscar at JMW. But Ricky only moved up to WW to get the fight with Floyd. When did he duck Floyd? I don’t remember that. Why would he have ducked him at his favoured weight, and then chased down a fight above his favoured weight? Have you got any details on this.
I don't like to answer a question with a question. But in this case it is logical to me that it is necessary. 1. Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. GOAT boxer? 2. Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. GOAT boxer in any of the divisions in which he won the belt? 3. What category is it? Since I would answer "no" to the first two questions, I do not need to answer the third question. Whoever answered "yes" to question number 2 should answer question number 3
