Actually, just checked, and there were two 115-113 scores in Parker-Ruiz.

So, had Parker still landed 150 more punches than Ruiz in their fight, if Ruiz dropped him twice, it would've ended in a draw, like Wilder-Fury 1.

I suppose that's in a nutshell what I was getting at with how Fury/Usky weighs in on Wilder vs AJ - is Fury & Usyk really the top dogs? If they put on a can't seperate 'em barnburner, then maybe. But if either Usyk or Fury dominates it opens the question up as to who the top dog(s) really are/were.

NB - i'm still highly sceptical that Fury v Usyk comes to pass, so not sure we will learn that much on the matter in the net year, but I hope to be wrong in that call!

AJ has wins over Klitschko, Ruiz, Pulev, Povetkin, Whyte and Parker.

Wilder did not fight any of these and outside of Fury, Ortiz is the only decent name on his record.

I'm not saying Wilder couldn't have beaten the above fighters but he didn't dare to be great which is why I rate his resume lower than AJ's.

“Wilder didn’t dare to be great”

He got in there three times with the standout great of his era and came close to stopping him twice, in a trilogy which will be talked about in a hundred years time.

Wilder has secured his place in history by daring to be great.

AJ went his whole career without getting in with the top two, then got busted up by a feather fisted cruiser twice.

The closest AJ has come to daring to be great will be facing prime OTTO Wallin.

AJ - easily. Still think Deontay stops him if he isn’t too affected from the 3 hard bouts with Fury…

…and even then, AJ might still have a better resume! Haha

"…and even then, AJ might still have a better resume! Haha"

This is an article of religious faith at this point. Even if Joshua loses to Wallin he'll still have "the best resume" according to you guys, whatever that means. In reality Joshua's resume sucks (1-3 in the fights that matter) and even Wilder's is better if you consider losses and credit Wilder with his draw against Fury.

The Fury trilogy outweighs that guff. No one will remember "Joshua-Pulev" and the like, don't kid yourself. And when they talk about Joshua, the three losses to Ruiz and Usyk will be at the forefront. As Froch said, "Joshua has no real legacy".

Credit to Wilder for getting in there 3 times with Fury but don't try to dress it up as him daring to be great, the first Fury fight was a cherry pick that went very wrong.

If you truly believe Wilder has a better résumé than AJ, you are a fool.

You're a fool for thinking "résumé analysis" is objective. There's no objective way to weight all of the factors involved.

It's proper lols that Dubblechin tries using the Fury fight as a positive in Wilders resume.

"the first Fury fight was a cherry pick that went very wrong."

As Rummy's Corner said, the draw enabled both Fury and Wilder to increase their earning power while maintaining their unbeaten records. Most people had Fury winning but the result was and always will be a draw. And no one would rather be Fury in that fight than Wilder from a health perspective; Wilder scored the KD's and did most of the damage.

Fury was still regarded as a top 3 heavyweight before the first Wilder fight and if Fury was a cherrypick, how was 41 year old, winless in 2 years Wlad not? That's Joshua's signature win by a long way.

It went wrong for Wilder when he fought Fury the 2nd time (which he didn't have to do, he could have easily gone a different way) and got battered. But despite that, he got in with Fury for a 3rd time and gave a strong account of himself. It was instantly considered one of the great heavyweight trilogies and does a lot for Wilder's legacy. As it stands he's the most significant American heavyweight of the 21st century and I imagine that will be the case for some time to come.

    This thread still going?

Are the propagandists and spin merchants still trying to convince you that Sarah Jessica Parker is better looking than Monica Bellucci?

OK, aside from the fact that AJ is an

Olympic gold medalist and world amateur championships silver medalist compared to The Dosser's Olympic bronze. I don't care if he didn't deserve it because every single one of the guys he beat on route to winning it would've knocked The Dosser out, let alone beaten him

Is a 2 x three-belt unified WBA, IBF & WBO champion to The Dosser being a one-time WBC champ

Has fought the far better competition both amateur and pro and it's not debatable and wins that are considered weak or weaker wins for AJ are strong or stronger ones for The Dosser. And the skill level of AJ's opposition is far higher than that of The Dosser

    Cammarelle x 2 - Olympic gold, silver & bronze, 2 x world amateur championships gold, 3 x European silver

Majidov - 3 x world amateur championships gold, Olympic bronze, European gold

Big Bang Zhang - Olympic silver, 2 x world amateur championships bronze

Joyce - Olympic silver, world amateur championships bronze

    Whyte
    Wallin x 2
Savon - Olympic bronze, world amateur championships gold & silver
    Dychko - 2 x Olympic bronze, 2 x world amateur championships silver & 1 x bronze
    Nistor - 2 x European bronze
    Frazer Clarke - Olympic bronze
Kuzmin - European gold & silver
Pfeifer - 2 x world amateur championships bronze
    Arjaoui

    Pros

Usyk x 2 - Olympic gold & bronze, world amateur championships gold & bronze, European gold & bronze. Undisputed CW champ & P4P#1
    Wlad - Olympic gold
Povetkin - Olympic gold, world amateur championships gold, 2 x European gold
    Parker
    Fat Andy x 2
    Whyte
Pulev - world amateur championships bronze, European gold & bronze
    Takam
    Martin
    Helenius - European silver
    Franklin
    Kevin Johnson
    Breazeale

    The Dosser

Clemente Russo - Olympic silver, 2 x world amateur championships gold, European gold & silver
Rakhim Chakhkiev - Olympic gold, world amateur championships silver
Harrison - Olympic gold - well past best, considered one of weakest ever gold medalists, so much so that fans often try to diminish Olympic gold medalists by saying well, Audley won gold too
Liakhovic - world amateur championships bronze Shot
Osmay Acosta - Olympic bronze, world amateur championships silver
    Helenius - European silver
Yushan Nijiati - world amateur championships bronze

The only ones of those he beat in the amateurs are Chakhkiev and Nijiati. Now compare that to who AJ beat in the amateurs. Night and day

AJ became a 2 x three-belt unified WBA, IBF & WBO in just 24 fights which is like 4 fights less than the amount of fights the The Dosser had before he fought anyone with a pulse and almost 10 less before he fought for a title

Has beaten 5 world champions in just 29 fights (including Povetkin) compared to The Dosser's 2, one of whom was shot to bits. None of AJ's were shot and Wlad, Povetkin, J-Park and Fat Andy are all better than the one who wasn't (Stiverne).

Hell, even Prince Charlie Martin might have beaten Stiverne too, especially the sick version who fought The Dosser, given he's lost to virtually every decent big man he's fought and his second best win is a way past prime Ray Austin who was whooping his ass prior to gassing late

Has fought way more punchers amateur and pro

Has only been stopped once in the pros despite this compared to The Dosser being stopped x 2 and AJ was stopped in his US debut in his opponent's backyard, whereas, The Dosser was stopped x 2 in his own backyard

Fought a whole bunch of fighters The Dosser ducked: Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte

Was never off his feet when he was in camp with Wlad sparring him, whereas, The Dosser was dropped multiple times and stopped by Wlad

    Is there anything else?

Doesn't the Ngannou fight pretty heavily detract from Wilders performance vs Fury? Ngannou was able to drop Fury and in the opinion of some deserved to win. This seems to blow up the notion that giving Fury issues is some great achievement.
