A bad KO loss for Parker? Time to retire.

But I am believing for a dominant win for JP - which will rejuvenate his whole career

Parker rockets to stardom if he can get the job done on Wilder.

Ruiz dominated in that fight, had ortiz in all sorts of trouble.

He took his foot of the gear in mid rounds, but if he hadn't he would have finished the fight in the mid rounds.

Excellent performance by Ruiz shutting down a dangerous, experienced, slick heavyweight

Ruiz literally got battered in the last round and hurt, he was by no means in control in the last round 114-111 or 113-112 in Ruiz's favour are fair scores but he didn't dominate.

In this 12th round where "Ortiz battered Ruiz", knowing he needed a KO to win, he scored zero KDs.
The fight was already won and lost. There will have been no doubts in the minds of the two fighters about who the winner was when that final bell sounded.

Against a younger Ortiz, maybe, who knows. The PBC were in no rush to find out.

On evidence/resume, it's probably easier to argue that Wilder isn't top 10 - he's not beaten a contender in at least 4 years (and that's being generous in regarding Ortiz as a genuine contender in #2, when it's questionable if he even was in #1).

Realistically, they're probably both top 10, but all the theoretical matchups and personal guesses about outcomes are worthless if the fights don't happen - and almost none of them will.

With respect, you've just described 99% of Wilder's resume... That's exactly what he chooses to get in with.

In the 90s we had The Night Of Young Unbeaten Heavyweights.

2023 we're getting The Night Of Semi-Shot To **** HW Hasbeens, Losers, Quitters, Excuse Makers and Drug Cheats, Unbeaten Euro Trash and Croatian King/Hrgovich's friend, Mark De Mori.

    Can't f'n wait.

He's knocked out numerous fighters with one shot and came within half a second of sparking out Tyson Fury.

Let's not deny the obvious reality that Wilder is a concussive puncher just to score cheap points on a message board.

He's limited, his resume even more so, but he hits really really hard. That is obvious.

Sorry... I missed this. You must have seen it very differently. The most common score for the fight was 114-113 Ruiz, with some scoring it for Ortiz the same way, including myself. It's one thing to be happy to coast, but it had to be obvious to Ruiz somewhere along the way that he was being comprehensively outboxed in almost every round he wasn't dropped in, with the exception of the 11th. Yet he could never quite get out of second gear, because every time he tried, Ortiz lit his ass up with straight lefts. While maybe never in trouble, I think the power of Ortiz made Ruiz apprehensive to first commit and eventually barely throw anything at all. Andy's face was swelling badly late, and he wasn't reacting all that well to the head shots Ortiz landed on him in the 12th. Also as you mentioned, he saw the Martin fight and knew the risk. So why shouldn't that factor in Ortiz's favor to you? He was scared of the power and took few risks because of that, and it's not like Ortiz was all that easy a target to land on flush. Sure, there's a way to predict how Andy would fight without the 2 early knockdowns, the same way he fought after he scored them, cautious as hell. Because 2 early knockdowns as we've seen many times, doesn't mean he fight is in the bag. Had he not scored the knockdown in the 7th. He'd have probably lost the fight. Because without that knockdown, who's to say how Ortiz would've fought 8-12.
