GGG DID beat Canelo TWICE but the "friendly" Vegas judges gave Canelo a ludicrous draw & an even more ludicrous winning decisions. Heck in his 40's he STILL nearly beat the Ginger headed beef eater

I get tired of seeing the " brittle hands" excuses for guys like Floyd & Calzaghe who couldn't break an egg with a punch so ,Calzaghe especially was allowed to slap with the inside of the glove & score every slap even though they were FOULS!! Floyd ran, held, Danced etc His only real aggressive blows were his illegal elbow shivers
Add to this Neither ever travelled abroad to fight throughout their careers. Except when Calzaghe robbed the great BHop & then added his name to the list of guys that beat a shot Jones jr.

Canelo TWICE I really deserved a draw in his over 40 third fight
Quincy also KO'd Saccharin Ray Leonard when he sparred him. He doesn't deserve the SUGAR Ray Name, Only one Surar Ray Mr Robinson
Leonard was still on his feet the ropes holding him up but his eyes were looking in different directions lol. He wouldn't spar Quincy any more after that lol

Calzaghe is the only answer here. Beating Hopkins (still very good), Kessler, Lacy, Eubank (still good), Reid, Brewer, Byron Mitchell, and Woodhall is better than a draw with Canelo, disputable wins over Jacobs and D Chenko, and wins over Lemieux, Murata (inactive), Murray, Geale, Macklin, Proksa, and Stevens.

    Also, the undefeated part.

Canelo won the 2nd fight fairly and Golovkin had his own disputable decisions vs Derevyanchenko and Jacobs.

Quincy never knocked Ray out. He hurt him pretty good and actually convinced Ray to change his game plan due to that punch.
Quincy sparred with Ray plenty of times and Ray even managed him for a time in his pro career.
Ray would have knocked Quincy out if they met in an actual fight - Quincy is world class but Ray is on a completely different level.

    No problem take care aswell.

I do agree that Golovkin deserved to win the 1st fight though definitely.

And Canelo has had the benefit of the doubt in every close decision with some of the worst scorecards I've seen in big fights.

IMO, GGG is unbeaten at MW...tne first fight Canelo was, while not a walloping, a fairly clear win for GGG.

That said, I think Calzaghe had an overall slightly better career.

His win over Hopkins was better than GGG's 'win' over Canelo.

I think GGG was slightly greater not better just more dominant against better fighters.....I am a huge fan of both...but I cannot hold the first 2 Canelo fights against since IMO he won the first fight and possible drew the rematch...the rubber match should not even be considered in his legacy it was a physically degraded GGG looking for some retirement money.

IMO in a head to head fight Calzaghe would beat GGG.....I would put Cals engine against any fighter...his pace was insane.

Ray admits he got knocked out. As in not being able to continue , Ray couldn't.. I agree with you and the majority of the boxing world that GGG outpointed Canelo twice .. And for that, I rate GGG accordingly .. I think the mistake people make is that they dont give him credit for beating a prime Canelo which elevates him slightly over Joe C imo ... It doesn't take a genius to understand that it took a rigged Vegas venue and a judge getting suspended to push Canelo thru .. There is no money in the sport if an old ass past prime Eastern European fighter beats the 2nd most popular fighter in the world .. which brings the same case as to why they pushed Mayweather thru against JLC fight 1 after he got beat up and clearly lost the fight .... so yeah anyway ,, maybe " they " will understand the business side of the sport .. I'm right there with you on this one .

Then tell the truth you act like he knocked Leonard completely out and onto the canvas when that's not true at all.
And you are leaving out the other times they sparred.
Michael Ward used to beat the crap out of Leonard when they would spar and he did it a number of times.
But everybody knows in an actual fight under the bright lights Ray starches Ward in under 10 rounds.
And I love Quincy as a fighter but he wasn't even close to the level that Ward was who was truly incredible until his lifestyle caught up to him.

You tell the truth my friend I never ever said he was on the canvas. He looked like the lights were on but no one was home. They stopped the sparring immediately.. His eyes were crossed he didn't know what hit him lol
