Argeullo is a good shout. More off reputation than from footage I've seen, but my impression of Barney Ross is of a clean fighter.
Pacquiao was clean but i think its because he had no idea how to clinch therefore couldnt even if he wanted to
I’m glad no one here fell prey to Patterson’s Mr Nice Guy schtick - he was one dirty mo fo if ever there was one..but deceptively so. You can take the punk outta the streets, but you can’t take the street out of the punk. In one fight, Patterson punched Ellis to the body, then rubbed the area he just hit as if to say “There, there, does that feel better?” Nice one Floyd. I looked it up - punching to the body and then rubbing the area straight after only serves to intensify the initial pain. Pretty sure Cus taught him that little dirty trick. Don’t be fooled, Patterson was evil incarnate.
Some ATG Larry was, eh - elite skills? More like all thumbs. Scott LeDoux could’ve told you a thing or two about Larry’s dirty digits - which were always wrapped in his foul jock strap for a full hour before fight time. The initial poke was bad enough..but the burning sensation that followed was dammed near unbearable..no monsel or lineament required...just the caustic odour of Dirty Larry was enough to do the trick. We’ve talked nicknames before - but Larry may well be in the running for the most - The Mallard, Neanderthal Man, Peanut Head, The Real Truth, Tom Thumb, etc. Most of which were/are none too flattering.
Elbows - for one example, Belly threw and landed a singularly intended elbow on Ngannou - absolutely no intent to land an actual punch.
