Yes, I mean Loma was signed with TR & huggy was set to become a free agent after that, yet Loma's team didn't make a noise before the fight about the 36 hour weigh-in? Can be a case of overconfidence both in Loma & his team thinking that he can overcome anything. The other party already has things stacked in their favor like all Americans as judges, why would you give them other advantages as well, extremely dumb especially when you know that its most likely your last shot at a title Someone should ask them about this in an interview
Tbh, boxing has been leaving a more and more sour taste in my mouth over the past couple of years. The weight bullying, the hometown favouritism, the PEDs, the deck stacking, the cherry picking, the judges, the refs, the disconnected networks/promoters, the ducking, the corrupt belt orgs, the lack of fighters and regular content, the fight fixing/dives, etc. it's all got far too out of hand; it's just not worth the investment and just doesn't provide the same enjoyment anymore.
Yeah. But WTF are they having 36 hour weigh ins for, especially when you have a fight between a fighter who is going to blow up 20 plus pounds and one who could fight an hour after the weigh in. When did that even become a thing? A fight is supposed to be at least somewhat fair and we have weight divisions for a reason. How can anyone defend 36 hour weigh ins when one fighter is going to enter the ring four divisions heavier than their opponent and three under 24 hour weigh in rules? And then they praise thee gigantic weight bullies for becoming multiple weight champions and crap on tiny ones who do the same when they're facing much heavier and longer giants not leprechauns half their size? Haney is being hyped up like he's the reincarnation SRR but he's literally never even beaten a single world champion close to his size. Even big career 140 Rougarou was 9lbs light FFS Haney has taken to hiding behing hoodies and shades at the official behind closed doors weigh ins now. He won't even answer reporter's questions This content is protected This content is protected
I've heard that a fair number of big cutters like this in Boxing and MMA tend to develop eating disorders due to their extreme diet style during a cut and rehydration.
What’s even more comical, is that the fans who do support all this clown **** now, spent literal years crying about how boxing needs to be played on an even playing field.
The fight night weights are taken 12 hours or so before the fight, the same slot where same day weigh in used to happen I think. They aren't going on the scales right before their ring walk.
I used to like Haney, as I give the benefit of the doubt to all boxers - I don’t dislike any boxer until I have a reason - until I saw the absolute state that he used to show up to weigh ins. Just disgusting. Clearly gaming the system. The 36 hour rehydration clause against Loma speaks volumes too. 1 - why should that be a necessary thing to lobby for if you aren’t gaming the system? And 2 - why would any commission grant that?! It makes the whole concept of the weigh in a joke. so yeah. Deck stacking from the fighter to the promotion. Haven’t liked him since. Feed him to someone his own size - Jaron Ennis, for example. See how he does then. PS - Loma *still* beat him after all that. Ha.
If one guy weighs 150 fight night and the other weighs 165lbs that’s the definition of a weight bully. Yes it’s the system that allows him to do that, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s massively outweighing his opponent. Stop giving credit to con artist fraudulent “fighters” who abuse the system - that’s all your doing
That's an interesting fact, if it is actually a fact. The sport should film fight night weights and made public (as proof) just like the official weigh ins. Regardless, every professional boxer is dealing with the same rules. If this Benson is spouting facts, it's a testament to Haney's genetics, training camp and nutrition intake. What does the OP want? Strip Haney of a victory because his genetics, training camp and nutrition are top notch? Rigorous drug testing is already in place so what's the problem?
