Edit - after reflection, this thread is disrespectful to fighters and is not a fair assessment of them.
So, a Wilder thread. The only credible excuse imho was by Nichols after the Wilder fight when he revealed that he had been weight drained because Wilder's team managed to get him blacklisted from every all-you-can-eat buffet in the area. More underhanded tricks by Team Wilder.
Pacquiao having heavy trunks. His hair being long. His fans can make up anything and its disgustingly. Wilder's gear being too heavy was also a goodie.
Chris Eubank claiming that Collins was hypnotised to the point of beating him is definitely something Wilder would say. Bert Cooper claiming that Foreman had deliberately sent hookers and coke to his hotel room is also hilarious.
Haye's toe was in bad shape and he should have delayed the fight, nobody would have been pissed off because it was a legitimate injury.
Roger Mayweather saying that he ate too many licorice after he got beat up by Julio Cesar Chavez in the rematch.
Wilder had a bunch. Im also a big fan of Froch saying that "It was a bit cold" when he fought Ward in Atlantic City.
I dislike Haye but I don't understand why people dismiss the toe injury so much. Of course a broken and swollen toe is going to very detrimental to a boxing match.
Wilder said that his 40 pound costume that he wore entering the ring against Fury took his legs away. This wasn't after a loss, but after testing positive for marijuana, Tex Cobb said he was jogging on the beach and somebody blew marijuana smoke in his face.
It was the only way to beat the worm. Still he managed to drop Wilder with a single check jab, if he had been fully fed I think he would have sent Wilder through the ropes.
I’ve boxers go through a fight with worse. I think it was more the nature of how Haye presented the excuse that rubbed people up the wrong way, especially after so much trash talk.
You could hear him tell his wife that Ward was too slick right after the fight. So that makes it even more obvious.
