If he could get rid of the opponent (which was far from a given), Vitali needed at least 22 minutes to stop anyone Danny Williams level or above barring an injury or quitjob, that's 15 of his 19 wins post-Mahone. He also couldn't put a dent in a twice one-punched Lewis over 6 or a blown-up LHW Byrd over 9, both of whom he found a way to lose to. People who say "Vitali in 7 or less!" are as silly and unfounded as those who might say "Corrie Sanders late stoppage!"

Vitali's best ever win over a SHW was his 12 round decision over Sprott-victim Timo Hoffmann. His speciality was short plodders.

Wilder would have a very good chance of beating Vitali, Joshua would probably gas out and get ground down eventually.

This forum is delusional and dishonest of course so it pretends that K2 fringe contenders (who they would have rubbished back in the day if they actually didn't) would be 50-50 or better with Wilder but it's interesting that 5x as many polled favour Wilder over Joshua to beat Vitali. That would presumably be a "prime" Joshua too. Again it supports my point that we overwhelmingly regard prime Wilder as a superior fighter to prime Joshua at this stage, whether people admit it or not.

    "Wilder was losing to Ortiz"

Wilder was following a gameplan tailored to Ortiz. He'd be more proactive against a more durable and better-conditioned opponent. He'd be far less worried about explosive counters from Vitali too.

"He's not going to outbox him, he's not going to outwork him, he's not going to drop him."

Then why do you give Wilder 30%? Cut and injury risk?

Cuts, injuries, or if his speed and power somehow disrupt Vitalis mojo and throws him off his game enough to win rounds (see when Sanders was landing sharp counters).

Wlad's never been KO'd, only TKO'd....he's never failed to get up after a KD. Vitali has never even been knocked down. Both had far superior footwork, balance and power to beat Wilder handily

Or maybe you are the delusional one who can’t be honest because you are a fanboy. Wilder got brutally stopped twice by light hitting Fury and Vitali is much more dangerous. His chin held up against big punchers just fine, and if Wilder can’t land fully flush, he loses. Vitali gets to him and breaks him down, stopping him in the later rounds.

Vitali beats them both. Wilder's a one trick pony and I think Vitali has a good enough chin that it would take more than one big right hand to finish him and that's if Wilder can even land it and if he even hurts Vitali, Fury showed how open and sloppy he is when going for the finish, so I doubt Wilder could finish a hurt Vitali off. Vitali racks up the rounds, rides out any rough moments when Wilder does land the right hand and probably breaks Wilder down and stops him late.

Joshua isn't out boxing Vitali or knocking him out either. He might have more success than Wilder due to his better boxing skills but in the end the work rate of Vitali would be too much, he fades and Vitali stops him.

Fury and Usyk are the only ones I could see even being competitive with Vitali, everyone else in this era loses in a one sided fight.

One of Vitali's testicles produces more testosterone that these two combined.

And yes, he beats them. Might go the distance seeing how Vitali could play chess instead of culling.

Neither guy is as good as prime Sam Peter. Peters wins over Toney and Maskaev are easily better than anything Wilder has ever done.

If Sanders could drop him. A right hand from Wilder would also I believe. Joshua would be more like Lewis for Vitali to handle.
