Morell so far has fought with only D or C level boxers... he has a good punch... some solid boxing fundamentals and seems to have a good chin... Benavidez has more experience but seems to be less technical... I need to see morell with a good fighter to give his opinion

Morrell is not that impressive. Benavidez should take this fight.

    I rate both.

DB has been in with the far better opponents and has grown a lot because of it.

David B should fight him in the first half of 2024 to take advantage of the gulf in big fight experience because David M could potentially get a lot more dangerous than he already is.

Canelo should fight Morrell he is the reg WBA champ. Morrell should fight a top 10 guy he has not earned a shot at Benavidez who has bigger fish to fry.

A fake WBA belt. He has not fought a single top ten guy yet and he deserves to fight for an eliminator for undisputed? lol..

He didn't earn a shot at King Canelo, maybe a fight with Berlanga makes sense? Lol

Canelo won't fight Benavidez before second half of the year so could happen. But Morrell is big and dangerous too. Also, if Benavidez were to beat Morrel by a wide margin or stop him, Canelo might actually duck after that.

On the other hand if Morrell beats Benavidez would Canelo take the fight or conveniently dismiss them both?

    It's an interesting proposition.

Berlanga would be a good step up for Morrell. He is not ready for Benavidez, neither in ability nor in popularity. It's not a hot ticket yet and DB will steamroll him right now.

When Benavidez fights and beats Canelo, he is moving up to 175. Both guys are still young and I expect that the fight will happen there at some point. By then, it will be the type of event that Canelo/Benavidez will be (if Canelo lets it happen).

Bullied? Nah. He's just way too wide and telegraphed with his combinations right now.

DB is clearly several degrees faster than Morrell is, so he is going to have to learn to set up his punches better and not leave himself open. He's pretty raw at this point, honestly. Benavidez wins this fairly easily right now.

Berlanga is the type of fight for him right now, then maybe Plant or Jermall.

    Then we can talk Benavidez.

Great fight and one I'm intrigued to see. The Cubanos have arrived on US shores to kick ass and Morrell is leading the charge. Sure his level of opposition is weak albeit let's not forget he's only had 10 fights, but he's clearly very talented fighter and he's looked electric smashing the guys he has fought to bits.

In fact, he probably has a better resume in just 10 fights than Benavidez had after 20.

Both are very talented, very big for the weight and long, lean and powerful, fast and both are very destructive offensive forces. One of the most intriguing match ups that can be made right now.
