Is his tape a great deal more impressive than Edgar Berlanga's was before he stepped up, or are we just hyping him up because he's Cuban?

My two cents Benav is putting the pressure on Canelo, Morell is putting the pressure on Bena, Canelo is picking his next opponent likely Charlo or Munguia both fighters Bena and Morell are young could play the waiting game I don't think Bena will take the risk with Morell so pena of loosing the millions with Canelo guys this is a chess game.

On first glance its great but when you think about it the match up is awful because Morrell is still a nobody and there are no real stakes on offer, but if he is built up right it could be a mega fight in a few years. Fighting now is like a waste imo. There seems to be a desperate rush for him to fight Benavidez of all people when he has not even had a decent step up fight. I think most of it is fueled by desperate Canelo fans.

Benavidez management would be idiotic to match him with Morrell. A high risk fight with close to zero reward. If he wins a close fight, he struggled with a 10-0 fighter, if he loses its a disaster and if he destroys him, Morrell was too green anyway. Would totally brain dead to fight him.

Morrell might be a generational talent. But only desperate men seem to want to fight him, so we may never find out.

Morrell looks sharp and very dangerous but he’s still very unproven while Benavidez has beaten the likes of Plant and Andrade. For me I’d still go with him but I think Morrell would be dangerous. Until he gets a few more fights at a higher level, we won’t know for sure just how talented he is.

Basically any fighter with a whiff (however faint) of Canelo $$$ is not going to be fighting Morrell

Morrell is at worst the third best guy in the division in most fan's eyes and like Benavidez is a current interim champion. He, like Benavidez but obviously to a much lesser extent, doesn't have the resume to match his talent yet but it's plain to see he's extremely talented and dangerous, which is exactly what I've been saying about Benavidez for years, since the first time I saw him fight and that was against a nobody early on in his career

I agree Morrell is high risk low reward but for me it's one of the most intriguing match ups that can be made in the sport right now.

Clenelo wants them to fight each other just like that female dog ass chicken coward female dog ass ho Haney wants Teofimo and Matias to fight each other so he only has to walk halfway across the minefield.

FTR, I saw a post yesterday from someone who claims to have met Morrell in person and they said he walks around at 220lbs or 230lbs IIRC and that he's a legit 6'3'' or 6'4.'' If so, and I'm not saying it is true, we might have to start considering him a massive weight bully. Personally I don't think he is that big but he, like Benavidez, is huge for the division

He's had 10 fights. I think I'll wait a bit before joining the newest bogeyman bandwagon.

I'm not saying Morrell is a boogeyman yet. But the division seems determined to make him one by default since the top men there aren't willing to fight him.

He has not proven that in the ring at all. Has not even beaten anyone in the top 10 but he's 3rd best?

Same way how Benavidez has been the second best guy in the division throughout all this time Clenelo has been ducking him to unify against the ''best'' in it
