I believe the sport is declining in popularity because of the lack of defense seen in the sport today. The decline of levels has been apparent.

Really glad to see some boxing judges like the legendary Dave Moretti still values defense

Most people know defense is way harder to do than offense and it’s really not close . Anyone can brawl like cavemen , almost nobody on the planet can defend like a master . Weaving, slipping , dodging, parry , rolling , head movement, backpedaling, blocking

    It’s becoming a lost art

Frankly speaking a lot of fighters today are lacking

You're just being a snob. A good offence is every bit as hard to fully utilise as defence. Having genuine leverage, good shot selection, good set ups, throwing consistently powerful and fast combinations and being good at closing the distance and at infighting is just as hard as being a defensive wizard. A true master knows how to do both simultaneously, blending offence into defence and defence into offence until they're essentially one movement, that's how the great counter-punchers are made.

Saying anyone can swing like a caveman in this "analysis" of yours invalidates the whole premise of your argument. Anyone can attack like a caveman, anyone can defend like a caveman. Hardly anyone can be a defensive master, hardly anyone can be an offensive master. If defence was as neglected as you claim it to be, then there would be a lot of more offensive masters, and vice versa.

I can't think of a masterfully offensive and defensive fighter, Inoue is masterful offensively and very responsible defensively, and that's more than enough to satisfy me. Turn his offense down a bit and his defence up a bit, and he's a less interesting fighter to watch for me, because the fun comes from the cerebral way he breaks down his opponents, figuring them out, identifying their weakness, and exploiting it. If each division had a fighter or two, with the offense/defence ratio of Inoue , wouldn't the sport be in a better place?

Got to disagree. Defense is an important part of the game, but being able to create and implement a good offensive plan is equally important. The ability to set traps that opens up the opponents defense, the timing and accuracy it takes to hit your opponent on a consistent basis are very important skills.

"Sophisticated" boxing involves offense just as much as defense.
Boxing aficionados / connoisseurs can enjoy a good blend of both, not just one.

    Wrong , objectively

As I said , it’s been in all the circles that defense is unanimously voted as far harder than offense in boxing

offense can be somewhat sophisticated , defense is on a whole diff level

In your estimation, sophisticated boxing does not include having offensive skills? Only a fool would argue that defensive skills are not necessary, but to say offensive skills are not just as important is foolish as well.

I did not read your post prior to writing my other post.

You telling me that Mayweather's offensive skills did not make him who he was as a boxer? If he wasn't skilled offensive he would not have been anywhere near the fighter he was. His ability to counter, jab to the body effectively to open his opponent up to head shots, timing, feints, check hooks. All offensive skills. These are just a few offensive skillsFM employed.
