Yes I know he hasn't beaten the top guys yet but it doesn't change the fact that Benavidez would've beaten BJS 2.0, Plant and the 168 version of Callum Smith when Clenelo was busy unifying against them and was the 2nd best at the weight.

In case you haven't noticed yet the current 168 class is a graveyard division and weak resume or not Morrell is easily one of the best and most hardcore fans, at least, would pick him to beat all those guys sans Clenelo and Benavidez and some believe he can beat them too. There's a reason why Benavidez said he wants to fight him

I'm a big Benavidez fan but his resume isn't exactly great either. It's better than Morrell's but he's had a lot more fights and been given the opportunity to fight bigger names

But Clenelo doesn't want that smoke

I think it's too early to even say they don't want to fight him. Benavidez tried to fight him a while back but Morrell's team said that he needed more time. Now that Benavidez is becoming popular, team Morrell wants to make the fight.

If I'm DB, I'm not going to let someone with ten fights just waltz in and try to capatilize off of something I spent ten years building.

Morrell should work on building his own fan base, IMO, and bring a bit more to the table for when the time does come. There are some really good stepping stone fights out there for him.

Morrell knocks out Benavidez, in my opinion.

So far Benavidez has enjoyed bullying smaller opponents at 168. He hasn't fought a hard hitting boxer as Morrell. And he often gets tagged in his fights.

Morrell won't forgive Benavidez's weak defense.

Canelo knocks out both of them.

Thanks for the comedy. lol. Canelo would never dare step in the ring with either. Both stop him.

Berlanga's last three opponents are better than anyone on Morrell's resume.

Berlanga has had double the amount of pro fights and if you are saying Quigley, Angulo and Rolls is a much better resume than Fox, Yerbossynuly and Falcao then i'm afraid you are just not correct they are pretty close.

Angulo's only losses were to Benavidez and Gilberto Ramirez.

Rolls only loss was to GGG.

One of Quigley's losses was to Andrade.

C'mon, man. Those guys are not only better, but have also fought much better opponents than Morrell's best opposition.

I hope you were being sarcastic - otherwise, that list isn't proving what you think it does.

    • Quigley was blown to smithereens by Andrade in just two rounds. And nobody regards Boo Boo as a KO artist.
    • Steve Rolls had nothing on his CV prior to his fight with GGG. He was picked as a tuneup. How can you possibly give Berlanga credit for outboxing a 38 year-old Rolls who probably was feeling less than his prior best self after GGG deposited his liver, pancreas, and both kidneys in his underpants with bodyshots when they fought three years earlier?
    • And c'mon - Angulo was 38 years-old and shot to pieces when Berlanga got hold of him.

They are still a step up from anyone Morrell has fought something you refuse to understand. By diminishing them you are making Morrell look even worse. lol

But since you're around, could you maybe provide any information on David Morrell's opponents? Who have they fought?

Listen im not saying he has a good resume, what i am saying is their resume's are comparable. Falcao is a Bronze medallist, Yerbossynuly was undefeated (and fair enough untested) Fox fought Andrade to points and also scored a (bull) knockdown but was battered by Liam W. Berlanga has fought Rolls who's name comes from being blasted by GGG and was 38 years old, Angulo was 1-1 in his last 2 and also 38 years old, Quigley who was also 1-1 in his last 2 and was stopped in 3 by Andrade. Morrell has had half the pro fights Berlanga has and their resume's are close, so no he hasn't really stepped up has he? But my point wasn't on Morrell's resume to begin, it was on Berlanga's.

Morrell looks like the real deal but he hasn't beaten anyone in the top 20 yes (I don't believe).

I'm not picking that type unk against someone of Benavidez's quality yet....................Benavidez has run over, bombers, slicksters, boxer/punchers etc........he's already beaten all types of diverse boxer stylistically...............
