I need to see Morrell against someone who can fight back. He is definitely a decent fighter but I need to see him against someone he doesn't overwhelm. He most certainly won't do that to Benevidez. Not saying he can't beat Benevidez but he sure as hell will need to dig a lot deeper than he has against his past opposition. Benevidez isn't going to wilt.

Benavidez may not wilt. But I'm betting he'll find closing the distance on Morrell a much more dangerous proposition than closing the distance on Plant or Boo Boo.

    Bump.
. This is a fight that needs to happen next, especially with the likelihood of Canelo not wanting to face Benavidez any time soon. Perhaps these two can square off and the winner can hope to make a fight with Canelo.

Both guys showed vulnerability but this a match up that would make for a good fight.

Not At All !! The fight that needs to happen is Canelo-Benavidez NEXT!!! Not the Berlanga debacle. When are the WBC going to call that Ginger coward, hes been #1contender for nearly THREE YEARS Yet STILL no Mandatory demand ever came.
Ginger brags " I'll fight who I want, when I want, I've earned it I'm the King of Boxing " ROFLMAO Bivol took what little bit of courage & heart Canelo had the WBC need to do the right thing Strip Ginger All the Alphabets do he is nothing more than a COWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've lost any hope that Canelo vs Benavidez will ever happen. Hope I'm wrong though.
If that ends up being the case then Benavidez vs Morrell would make up for that.

Benavidez should fight Morell. Obviously the canelo fight is not gonna happen, at least not any time soon.

Turki should make him fight Morell before a shot at the winner of the undisputed bout.

Morrell isn't ready for Bena yet. Still a few fights away. He looked awful the other night.

But why should Canelo be allowed to hold the titles to ransom, continually ducking Benavidez his # 1 contender & fighting no hopers like Berlanga, Charlo etc to boost his fortune with no risk?? The WBC , Vegas boxing & the NSAC couldn't care less who he "fights"? as long as he makes them the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.Why anyone buys the blatant corruption defeats me

Benavidez is not contending at 168 anymore. He refused to enforce the mandatory at 168 and has moved up to 175 lbs and is now campaigning there. The interim WBA 168-lb Champ Morrell is now fighting and campaigning at 175 as well. Berlanga is the #1 contender for the WBA and is Canelo's mandatory. Munguia was Canelo's WBO mandatory who he fought last.

Canelo is fighting his mandatories. Get with the program CJ. Stay up to date on the sport you profess to love so much.

Never been all that impressed by Morell. Benavidez has a much better feel for boxing and a wider skillset imo

I didn't like what I saw from Morrell on Saturday. Benavidez beats him.
