In their prime, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson were the most athletic and fastest heavyweights in history. However, would their athleticism transition well to football, and who do you think would be more successful and perform better in the NFL?

I know zero about NFL. Being short is okay in the NFL ? Is Tyson short for NFL standards ?

Ali with muscle and trim he makes the right side defensive end position. Almost like Richard Dent from the Chicago Bears only 2 inches shorter.
Tyson could go both ways .. one he becomes a running back like Earl Campbell From the Houston Oilers and steam rolls everybody with those huge thighs .. the other is Tyson ends up as the head male Cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. In other words He catches women for a living.
Either way I think Tyson ends up in Texas.

Ali as a quarterback and Tyson as a running back, put in Holyfield as a wide receiver and Foreman as a linebacker lol

I thought Ken Norton was supposed to have been good at this sport. As for Ali and Tyson, it all depends on a very different set of skills to boxing.

I can’t remember where I read it but I swear I am not making it up, Vince Lombardi probably detested Ali’s war stance but supposedly said he would make a great tight end.

Possibly Ali. Dokes, WItherspoon, and Norton also played football at some points in their developments.

They’d find a spot for Tyson. Not sure about Ali.

Depends on the position. Tyson possibly could have been a running back, or potentially could have played defense - I could see his speed and strength helping him quickly get to a QB. But that's about it. Ali was tall and long and also had fast legs, so I could see him being a receiver or possibly a cornerback, but that's it.

Tyson could have been a great running back. In my mind, I don't see Ali converting to football at any position except Quarterback. That's where his main skills would shine. But his body could have worked at WR, too.

No idea if Ali ever threw a football in his life but he had decent proportions for a QB 6'3", 215-220 he had great footwork and reflexes but really no idea if he could actually throw.
