Whilst I agree it was an early stoppage there have been a lot worse.

Froch would have KOd Groves if the fight continued whereas some fights have been stopped when the loser was taking minimal punishment

 

Well, you don’t know if he would’ve. That’s the whole point in letting a fight carry on, isn’t it? The fact is Fosta was desperate to find any excuse to stop it -one has to ponder why.

 

Froch v Groves 1 was really bad and we know that fatty northern ginger was basically on team Froch, liking his Facebook posts etc the night before. I think he’s a terrible referee.

More recently that talentless Romero beating Barroso in Vegas in June was an absolute joke. Same referee that stopped Kovalev against Ward in their rematch. Another awful stoppage.

 

Can't remember who he was fighting but there was a Wardley one earlier this year which was utterly appalling.

You are right, nothing is for certain in boxing.
But I think there have been a lot worse stoppages

 

100% agree.

All the stoppages people think of are when a ref jumps I early but this is and was a much worse scenario

 

Joshua - Takam I thought was pretty bad.

 

I think the thread means worst premature stoppage, but on the subject of KOs Mercer's on Morrison was brutal.
Julian Jackson KOing Herol Graham has to be up there, Herol was asleep the split second it landed.

 

That was a bad one.

The most controversial one on a "global" scale I'd still say was Meldrick Taylor v Chavez..... 5 seconds to go.....
