I noticed on wallins amateur record he lost on points twice to AJ but I can’t find any footage online of those fights

Massively impressed by Opetaia in not only this build up but the Thompson one too.

No games, no BS, no heirs and graces - just an intensity and will to win that a lot of other fighters try to portray but don't have. Add to that his levels in the ring and he's soon becoming one of my favourite fighters.

 

Just watched the AJ interview after the public workout.
Typical Joshua had hold of a sponsored water bottle for the interview but it looks like they purposely only filmed him from the chest up to hide it.

If he was so focused on his boxing why is he a walking advertisement at ALL times. Have a day off!

 

Has he vacated his IBF belt?

 

He has yeah, it's a bit harsh considering he wasted 2 months negotiating with Boxxer and Riakporhe, then went straight into Thompson as a voluntary and had agreed to fight Briedis in 2024 so I don't really see the issue if he wants to have a fight in the meantime if it's not affecting the Briedis fight in any way at all. Sanctioning fees would have been paid for it etc.

 

Yeah seems incredibly harsh to me. Fair play to him though as he obviously backs himself to come back and grab more belts and with good reason.

I missed the Thompson fight and am looking forward to watching him.

No one else has been pushing their sponsors like him in Saudi.
And they were only informal interviews after the workout.

He went to ring for workout with a yellow/blue water bottle then headed to interview clutching a black bottle.

Maybe if he concentrated on his boxing more than his brand he might get better results in the ring

 

He probably has alot more sponsorship than the others

And does him changing T shirts and using various water bottles really stunt his preparation??

It doesn't, and his management team handle that stuff anyway

 

yeah I was going to put some money on Miller beating him but I'm going to swerve that now ive seen the state of him.
