Only Kubrat Pulev could drag someone like Wawryzk the distance.

Comfortable points victories for both Pavel Shulskiy and Maxim Babanin.

Shulskiy outboxed an old and fat Gavern, but couldn’t force the stoppage over 3 rounds.

Babanin faced a Kingpin who came to win and looked good in spurts, but his older slower feet meant Babanin was quite comfortable through out.

Garcia should be a more skilled opponent on paper. He was unlucky to drop a decision to Moses Johnson last year; a fight that he clearly won, IMO.

Lorenzo Medina (9-0, 8 KO) scored a TKO6 victory over Joshua Temple (12-3-0) in their fight on the Paul vs. August card. It was not an easy victory and Temple was awarded a 2nd round knockdown when the ref failed to notice that Temple had simply stepped on one of Medina's feet. But Medina hit the gas in the 6th round and nailed Temple with a big right hand that turned his legs to jelly. Medina then unloaded a barrage of shots that had clearly had Temple out on his feet and the ref stepped in to end it.

Medina needs to tighten up his game some and could stand to lose a dozen pounds or so (244 lbs is a bit too much for his 6' 2" frame) - but he looks awfully good for a boxer who just turned 19. Probably has more natural talent than Richard Torrez Jr, IMO.

Gavern being all of 46 years old. And he hasn't fought in more than 7 1/2 years. Good lord.

Aleksey Egorov won a comfortable decision against Elvis Garcia over 4 rounds. He improves to 13-1 (8KOs)

Pryce Taylor did not fight on the 16th. Chris Arnold pulled out and they were unable to find a replacement.

Fernely Feliz Jr, however, moved to 7-0 with a TKO stoppage (1:11, Rd 6) of his opponent, Raphael Carolina (2-4). Not very impressive, but Carolina was a young-ish fighter whose losses came against CW/HW prospects who were undefeated at the time they had fought him, and none of his three prior losses were stoppages. Feliz Jr's management would probably do well to line up him with a fighter like Terrell Jamal Woods or Sean Bey (another undefeated prospect) or Quintin Sumpter (who was robbed when he fought Bey).

Kownacki's March 2nd opponent will be 11-1-0 Kacper Meyna. At first glance that record looks better than it is, because I don't recognize any of his opponents other than Krzystof Twardowski and his sole (decision) loss came against a fighter with little experience who had already lost his zero.

So there's no reason to think that Kownacki's ghost can't somehow beat him.

Because it was an exhibition fight. Tapology has a record of the fight and has labeled it "Exhibition Boxing".

Garcia, btw, weighed in at 269.6 lbs. About 40 lbs heavier than when he got busted for PEDs a couple years ago. Egorov was at 210.8 lbs.

This was Kabayel's last fight and it was a total slugfest, you guys should definitely check it out.

Makhmudov vs Kabayel come wind up being the best fight of the card. :chuck:
