A true legend in the game

 

Larry is great. He’s not far from 93. I know it’s very early next year. A lot of great memories of Larry. Sad to hear,

 

Very sad to hear. Love him or hate him Larry Merchant had a lot of great moments in boxing. Legend.

 

We might be losing another legend. Sad news.

 

Stayed in the game well past his prime, but his legacy was well cemented way before that.

Hoping for the best possible outcome.

 

Hope he gets better some how, one of the best commentators & is missed big time, will pray he gets through it.

 

I hope that Larry Merchant isn't in any pain. I loved Larry Merchant commentating on boxing.

 

I viewed him as the weak link on the HBO broadcasts but Larry Merchant is a legendary boxing commentator and journalist going back to the 50s so it's a great loss for the sport.

 

No i thought he was the better part of the team, he didn't even over speak mostly said very little as i would rather hear more from him then both Roy & Lampley yapping away while giggling, Larry always made the fights feel big along with Steward & when those two left you could feel the difference especially in the build up promos/introductions, they really left their mark on it.

 

Larry's a legend in the sport. If only he was 50 years younger and could kick Chris Mannix's ass bad enough to get him off of our televisions. Hoping for the best.
