Again one of these 185 pound old timers vs a modern 248 pound elite superheavyweight. Floyd gets flattened within 3 rounds. Probably is stopped in 45 seconds. Like a mouse fighting a hungry wild cat.

 

My heart says Patterson but my head says AJ.

 

How many times do you really think he’d have to hit him ?

 

You guys are all crazy. Everyone knows Patterson will win against Joshua.

In fact, Patteron is so great he can probably brush off hits from some dude 60+ lb bigger than him who dropped a fat guy that was 260+ on the scale. That weight stuff is just excuses for the other guys in the 185 range who like to duck dudes 240+ on the scale, but not Pattern. Yeah he's the deal deal and will do just fine.

Didn’t ingo lose 2 out of 3 against Floyd? Besides, ingo’s right was faster and sneakier than AJ’s.

 

Floyd wouldn’t win the rematch. And Ingo was no master of the sweet science either and nor did he have Joshua’s physical advantages

 

Who said anything about a rematch? I just meant that one lose against ingo doesn’t suddenly mean Paterson is susceptible to right hands. I never said that ingo was a master boxer ether, just that he had a faster right hand and that he was great at timing it.
Sure, AJ is much bigger than ingo, so Floyd will probably try to box and move instead of mixing it up with him. He certainly has the speed and skill for it.

 

Based off everything I've seen from Joshua against shorter and less predictable fighters like Takam, Povetkin, Ruiz, and Usyk I don't see Joshua having an easy time landing clean on Patterson. Takam wasn't having too much trouble ducking and slipping under most Joshua's punches. Takam was also consistently getting inside on Joshua. If Takam had Patterson's talent and firepower Joshua would've been on his back.

Patterson also wasn't that easy to knockout considering Johansson, Liston, and Ali were the only fighters to manage it and Patterson had a long pro career. Even if Joshua did clip Patterson I doubt he'd stop Patterson, since Joshua telegraphs a lot of his punches, which is why he wasn't doing much damage to Usyk even when he tried to apply pressure on Usyk.

 

Seeing Joshua back to somewhere near his best tonight I'm sorry Joshua takes Patterson's head off far too big and powerful.
