Actually he looked nothing like he did against Fury and that was my point. Against Fury he was combative, aggressive and active with his hands. He was none of those things tonight and it had nothing to do with anything Parker did.
Notice that as soon as the bell rang for every round, Parker already had center ring. An old Kronk technique. Fury utilised that too.
Wilder never had a trainer to hold him accountable. If he would've had a Cus Damato, Teddy Atlas, or a Bozy Ennis, he would've went far (maybe undisputed)
Oh, Wilder's no boxing virtuoso. That's true. But he looked all of his 38 1/4 years to me. Those fast-twitch muscles of his don't twitch so fast as formerly. He was never as good as his cheering section proclaimed and now he's quite finished.
Not sure he really looked that different. Getting outboxed and throwing minimal punches per round is standard Wilder.
Thanks. I would like to think that Wilder isn’t washed by the way - he has 100% been my favourite fighter to watch over the last decade. Can’t imagine boxing without him!
Exactly. The age is not a problem for him, as he is very light, he was 215 or so. Plus he literally has 1 thing in his arsenal his right hand, and you can carry your power even into your 50s. His speed was just as usual, as well as his movement and cardio. Hell he was even moving better. Against Fury 3, cause of the weight he gained, he has cardio for 1 round and was gassing after the first.
I dont see age. I dont see him being broken Man after Fury fight too. He was quick and moving well. He just dont have idea to catch Parker with right hand. And he waiting too long to this happend and lost too many rounds. Its normal that ppl would be now making him old. He is old, inactive but I dont think that was the reason. Actually I think Parker can win fighting like that with all Wilder version.
Such wasted talent. He's the type of natural athlete who started to abandon boxing for basketball and football in the US (Wilder did try to get into basketball at first). If he had a better team around him to develop him as a fighter he could have become the great American HW champ people had been waiting years for. He could have been one of the biggest names in US sports.
Confirmed. One round activity in 2+ years after taking two beat downs PLUS late 30s is not a winning fact set in this sport. Glad for Joseph. If AJ wins a belt(s), does he give Wilder a fight?
I agree. Against Fury he did fire his trainer for throwing in the towel. Tonight he talks about how happy he is, his money investments, his daughters birthday, the psychedelic drugs he has been taking. Not the same guy.
