They were too scared to fight Wilder now, when they probably would have won in hindsight.
38 wasn't old enough for them still.
It's hilarious they ruined it all and lost all that money with their own cowardly conduct.

4-0 in 2023. Former blue chip prospect, former belt holder etc. It's not over until the fat lady sings.

In regards to AJs handlers you're probably right.

They definitely left some money on the table.

In recent years Hearn has shown the planning skills of Wile E Coyote.

I really don't see why they can't. I mean, just last year Canelo lost to Bivol and if I recall right there was concern if the GGG trilogy fight would happen, but sure enough it did.

Sure, a bit of luster is lost when stuff like this happens, but come on, get these guys in the ring together. It'll still sell and at least it'll be a fight kept from being only a dream matchup. Granted, there will be debates for years about how it would have went had they met when they should have, but at least this would be something.

I guess I'll watch it if they make the fighter, but I think Wilder is shot. He's done. No real point in making the fight.

I think a Wilder pre-Fury would beat AJ, but current Wilder would lose badly.

While it wasn't very clear, Malik Scott says the AJ fight was going to happen in March, but it's literally over now.
He also said he doesn't know and they have to see what Saudi wants now.

If Wilder was to win, we would have get 3 insane HUGE cards in just the span of 3 months.
This one in December, Undisputed comes February, and AJ - Wilder in March.

Now the question is who will Saudi choose for AJ, as it seems they are the one picking the opponents.

They should have stepped up years ago, pre-Ruiz Joshua very well could have sparked him out. I think later on both sides spent far too long trying to let the fight marinate. Another super fight gone, oh well onto the next.

Last time i check it was Wilder cloud chasing with fake 50m. e-mails with no money for the fight. As well as he himself admit to ducking AJ.
He was offered a what 120-150m. for 2 fights with AJ and Breazeale and he rejected the offer. That would have been more than he has ever earned, even to this day. The Breazeale fight was there as an offer, as Wilder wanted to fight him.

So the only reason this fight didn't happen when it is matter is because of one guy > Wilder.

Same Wilder that ducked Povetkin, that Klitschko, and that didn't want to have anything to do with Parker, when Parker was a champion. Same WIlder that didn't want anything to do with Whyte and ducked him hard.
Same Wilder that couldn't even manage to get a fight with Ruiz.

Yeah sorry, but AJ is been there done everything of that already.
You don't need a big brain to get it. Wilder was ducking AJ secondary level opponents, he was never going to fight AJ himself.

I always find it hard to completely blame one side in boxing as there is so much that happens behind closed doors and we don’t know the truth behind many offers. I don’t see it as so black and white and I refute any claim it was all AJ’s fault. I think he was always willing to fight Wilder but promoters tried to marinate the fight which was a disaster.

In fairness, Parker fought AJ (a more lucrative fight against the number 1 guy in the division) and Povetkin failed for steroids. I don’t blame him for those ones. I blame his team for cherry picking him opponents and the WBC for complying. The fact he has 10 defences against those guys is a disgrace. It’s time to stop letting champions fight journeymen.

You mean Povetkin was set up, and he never really failed a drug test, as his sample result comes clear after + it was meldonium that was literally banned a couple of months prior. And Povetkin was still clear, but Wilder run out from him. It wasn't like Povetkin was banned, and Wilder couldn't fought him. He just straight up ducked him.

You know what Wilder said on that, he will never fight a drug cheat. And then he proceed to fight Stiverne again, who failed a doping test, proceed to fight Ortiz who failed a doping test, and then fight Fury, who is a known PED cheat.

Sorry but your excuse for Wilder ducking not working. Povetkin at that time was a scarry monster and the WBC, aka Wilder protection at that time was in full force, as well as the American doping agency.

As far as for the Parker fight. Wilder claimed Parker ducked him, and never give him the opportunity to unify. This is what Wilder was saying all week long and that he will punish Parker for that.

When in reality Wilder never wanted any part of Parker. Never wanted any part of Klitschko, never wanted any part of Whyte, never wanted any part of AJ. Simple as that.

And you know the saying: “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck !”

Wilder claimed everyone was ducking him, I don’t really listen to what he says.

Povetkin was a steroids cheat plain and simple, stop excusing him. Wilder was hypocritically for fighting Stiverne and Ortiz yes, but this is a moot point.

Cool that you don't listen to what he says, but the reality is he was the one that ducked anyone with a pulse. And this ain't a stretch, this is 100% correct.

Povetkin was not cleared, and i find it strange everything goes to normal, the moment Wilder fight falls apart. Coincidence? Nqh i don't believe in this.
And no this is not a moot point. Wilder clearly ducked Povetkin, who was 1 of the best fighters at that moment and he would have send Deontey back to Tuscaloosa on a stretcher. Wilder never wanted that fight, especially when the fight was won by Povetkin promoter and was staged in Russia. They did everything in their power to screw the fight. There wasn't even a stance by the WBC, and anyone about the fiht, and Wilder refused to go to Russia and wait on the stance. He just said i won't ever fight him, he is a drug cheat, bla, bla, bla.
And then proceed to actually fight plenty of drug cheats.

    Clear duck.
