Got this terribly wrong and I’m not afraid to admit it. I do think Wilder is past it but still based on last night, Parker would have given any version of Wilder trouble.
Aged like fine cheese! I badly overestimated Wilder’s ability, I too bought into the hype following the Fury trilogy. Truth is he is past his best but also this is what happens when you are matched with fodder your whole career and finally fight guys who are not absolutely cooked and come to win. Wilder is done.
I think Parker reached the top very young and has been fighting guys with winning records for quite a while, a few loses against top guys when you’re young isn’t a bad thing if you learn from them. He is only 31, much younger than the rest in the top ten.
Oh not denying that, he showed he belongs among the best in the division. I’m delighted for him and hope we see him out there in another big fight soon.
What happened to him? He had 4 shots from the fountain of youth and put on a boxing clinic. That's what happened to him.
Well last night he just resurrected his career. He's now right back in the mix at the very top of the division and should be aiming for a 2nd run at a title. He shocked many including myself with his performance, he's honestly never looked better even when he was undefeated and was champ he never looked this focused and determined, his execution last night was flawless which it had to be against a puncher like Wilder. I'd love to see him rematch Whyte, that's a loss he can avenge.
No. Hrgovic had an absolutely disgraceful excuse for a match. Parker beating Wilder should mean he gets his rematch with AJ. Hrgovic v Dubios would be interesting though.
