100% spot on and the finish was very suspect.

I don't think it's tonto do with Wilder being shot.

It was the same Wilder who hasn't beaten proper a world level HW before that is clumsy, very limited, poor technically just looking for that one knockout punch.

Parker is and always has been better then Wilder.

    Parker record of wins
    Wilder
    Ruiz
    Chisora
    Takam
    Hughie

    Wilder
    Ortiz
    Stiverne
    Helenius
    Washington
    Spzilka

Big gulf in quality of between the two records.

Given the wide variance of performance to what was expected last night.

On the assumption nearly every fighter on tbe card (if not all) are on PEDs.

The quick nature of the card coming about meant all the lads were in different stages of their juicing campaigns. Meaning the expected performances were widely different.

So some lads lucked out on the timing and we're correctly cycled and other lads just had to stop taking immediately and collect their pay cheques?

I have been terribly busy with work and got to see the event this morning and it was really good. Kabayel and Dubois both surprised me with excellent performances - Dubois in particular was really impressive.

AJ delivered his best fight in 4 - 5 years and it was like the old AJ is back. I noticed that AJ didn't look physically pumped and his timing was super sharp. Nice to have AJ back after the last 2 fights where he really looked bad.

Let's hope he keeps his coach and team around him.

Agree. I'm not a big fan of AJ the character, but in his pomp he was a good boxer to watch. Last night was a bit nearer to that again.

Says a lot that Davison said he'd rather coach for a fight against Usyk than anyone else, as he clearly thinks AJ could win it with his confidence back (and Usyk's peak years behind him). I suspect also, AJ might regret the falling-out with McCracken as it seems the way to get AJ winning is keeping it simple and play to his strengths, rather than searching for something new.

It was a great card but I still have a hard time watching a boxing event from those corners of the world. There is not a great atmosphere among the spectators and it feels a bit flat for the TV viewers. It´s a shame because many of the boxers delivered good performances last night. A good end to 2023, which - by the way - has been a good year of boxing with many highlights.

Agree. When I was younger and into wrestling, someone started getting me tapes of Japanese stuff, where the wrestling was actually insane at times but despite an absolutely massive crowd you could hear a pin drop. Can see why TV companies didn't pick it up even when wrestling was in "craze mode" in the late 80s.

Yeah you're right, I rarely watch a boxing event from start to finish but the first fight started at 4pm and I watched it all throughout to the final fight. I think the fact that the card had known names right from the start, kept my interest throughout the night but we don't get cards like this ever.

Same here, although when I realised Arthur was going to see the final bell, I escaped that fight from round 3 or 4 to get some quick shopping in!

I'm not Joshua's biggest fan but he gave Wallin a good beating last night.

After all the talk Wallin had been giving in the build up he should feel ashamed of his performance. He chatted shite and got found out

Interested to hear your take on this.
I would have thought the self styled “real fighting man” would presently, be following a Spartan regime in some converted old salt mine, at a secret location!

Funny reading some of the bitterness. Just give all the fighters their props.

Same people slating Wallin now were the same ones who predicted him to give AJ fits or saying it will be a slow full 12 rounder from him.

What shocked me most was the improvement from Joshua under BD. Didn’t (and still don’t) have him down as a good coach but fair play to him. He’s done something there.

Wilder has never been a great boxer. As said previously he’s lost nearly every round he’s fought in the last 4/5 years where he hasn’t scored the knockdown. Even though he’s still a formidable puncher and extremely dangerous. Fantastic performance from Parker to nullify him.

Well done Parker, well done Dubois, Well done AJ.

Yes, they’re mainly like those nodding dogs, that used to be in the back of cars, the interviewers foisted on us. Terrified they get any of their credentials or jollies to the various events withdrawn. As another poster has said, Hearn must have early dementia re’ the Usyk losses. Joshua was saved by the bell in the 12th of the first fight.
Would that, we could have the likes of Gray or Larry Merchant, or anyone with integrity, whoops!!!
