I genuinely wonder after the performance we saw against Parker. Going 0-12 as a puncher is very bad and considering Parker is someone who is of quality level yet not world champion, it suggests we've probably overrated Wilders power by quite a big as when we look back most of his KO's were against tin cans. He dropped Fury multiple times true enough, but still never quite got rid of him. I honestly think Foreman and Shavers are superior punchers to him. Same goes with Cooney, Quarry, Liston, Lyle and frankly I'd say its also true for all of the big punchers in the 90's.

I think in the modern era AJ is a bigger puncher as well. There might even be a question of whether or not Ruiz can hit harder given he has bigger arms/body in general, better speed and better technique than Wilder.

I don't think so. Parker is well known for having a rock solid chin.

Wilder didn't land on Parker so it's impossible to judge

Given Parker has an iron chin even if Wilder did land there is a good chance Parker would have survived which the where the real problem lied for Wilder. You can't just keep losing round after round doing nothing expecting 1 punch to bail you out. Sure it did against Ortiz but Parker is 31 not a 40 year old with bad blood pressure.

Wilder is definitely still a huge puncher. Parker is durable and was good defensively in the fight. Wilder never really caught him clean with the right.

Parker has a solid chin and came in fairly heavy at 250 pounds he had good gameplan and followed Fury 2 blueprint to force Wilder on the backfoot to negate his power and right hand.

I still think if you give Wilder time and space and range......and let him sniper you from distance with his right hand hes still a big puncher.

But he lacks elite level boxing skills and variety in his offence and can't fight on the backfoot against a capable Heavyweight.

I'm always fair, even though i always though Wilder is a fraud, and have always said that. I think his power is very overrated, but he could still be one of the hardest punchers to ever lays them. The problem is we will never know, and the only one to blame is WIlder and his level of opposition.

He never really went against Iron Chinned guys or even granite ones, did he?

He couldn't drop Duhapas. And now with Parker he couldn't lay a glove on him.
On weak or average chin he is the ultimate bum crusher, but hard to say against someone with Iron chin +.

He never landed a solid shot on Parker. Him losing this fight had nothing to do with his power.

Come on, Ruiz? Really? Ruiz landed so many flush shots on an ancient Arreola and didn't even come close to hurting him. Couldn't finish Ortiz either. Or Liakhovich. The list goes on. Ruiz isn't a big puncher at all.

Clearly. Many of us have been saying this for years. Chris Byrd could've knocked out most of the stiffs on Wilder's ledger

Wilder never landed a clean right hand. He will go down in history as an extraordinary puncher.

Wilder may have a weak resume but his power for me is without question. He’s an epic puncher and should go down in history as one of the biggest hitters ever. I think he should also be remembered as an absolute warrior who has 0 quit in him.

Doesn't matter how big of a punch you have if it doesn't land. Wilders delivery system required reflexes and speed he just doesn't have anymore.

    It's still a huge punch.

No, Wilder could barely land or find the target. Parker made him miss like the amateur he is.

    Wilder was very rusty.

PFP Wilder is a legendary puncher. H2H he is like a 10/10 right hand power and timing. Good chin like 7/10. Killer instinct. Height 9/10. Reach 9/10 deadly range 10/10 because of his speed and size. Problem is he need certain types of opponents to look good. He lacks alot.

Lots of guys look great when they fight part-time boxers. When Wilder stepped up his competition he looked okay. 2 wins against Ortiz, who is chinny, and went 0-2-1 against Fury although scored some KDs, but Fury is also chinny, and got wiped by Parker, who has a durable chin.

Hard to just give Wilder a pass and say his power was ATG. Part of having power is, well, LANDING IT...

I give Wilder a solid B in power (arguably B+)
