I'm French and I discovered him because he beat a very good South Korean boxer I know, Jin Su Kim. Yoo Sub Shin is a serious contender for the Welterweight title, and it's been a long time since South Korea has had such a good boxer. He's 26, 177cm tall and currently has 5 wins for 5 KOs. He just had his first fight abroad in Tijuana, Mexico, against Adalberto Garcia Covarrubias - 7 wins for 21 losses and 6 draws. A Mexican journeyman who sought victory in front of his family. Titles for the moment : WBC Asia Silver champion Welterweight South Korea Champion in Welterweight Yoo Sub Shin stops him in the third rounds : This content is protected His victory against Jin Su Kim (at the moment of the fight 8 wins for 4 looses), it was his second pro match and he wins the welterweight South Korea's title : This content is protected
Too skinny for a welterweight. Asian fighters haven't caught on to modern s&c involving lifting heavyweights, bulking up and then cutting the water weight come fight night. I have a friend who is friends with someone that was in Chinese Olympic team. Diets are not controlled for performance and they still have the outdated ideas of "weightlifting slows you down" and "training longer = more results" which just results in injuries and muscle wasting from overtraining
I agree with what you said about training injuries, but Yoo Sub Shin really reminds me of 90s Korean champions like Park Chong Pal, so I hope he has a successful career. He is the only Korean likely to enter the top 10.
No idea how good he is. I'll have to watch him some fights of his soon. But if he is as good as you say I'd love to see him against Jin Sasaki. Japan vs South Korea has produced so many classics but not many have happened in the modern day.
