Can you imagine the headlines if it was AJ that beat Wilder last weekend?

This AJ Wilder thing has gotten old, fed up with hearing about it, Wilder was never that good, let it go, I want to see AJ v Fury the guy that kicked Wilder`s arse, that fight would be so huge in the UK, but I also want to see Usyk kick Fury`s arse too, so I`m torn, Wilder drift off into the wilderness now, who cares?

It would have been majorly hyped as a massive win which to be fair it would have been.

Parker is now a legitimate contender again.

To get into the title picture, you have to take risks and take the big fights.

    I can imagine the narratives...

Wilder's fanboys would've insisted it's only because Wilder's shot (exactly like they're saying now about him getting 12-0'd by Parker).

The general consensus would probably have been that Wilder was declined a bit from the losses to Fury but AJ was always the more proven fighter and would probably always have won.
Which to be honest is probably close to the truth - Wilder was obviously a bit rusty from being out of the ring so long and maybe a touch slower, but he was always the unproven fighter that was assumed to be good without having proved it.

Losing to Parker, who was always lesser than Joshua, and by such a huge margin hurts Wilder's reputation much more than losing to Joshua in any fashion would have.

Unless you're lucky enough to get gifted an iffy version of Stiverne and then kept away from anyone serious for years, with no consequences for a lack of interest in unifying.

Parker is still a fringe contender, he just exposed Wilder.

Well honestly it would have been great, because that would have meant that the fight had actually been made.

Now Parker beat Wilder everyone is like see……Joshua would have beaten Wilder. Except he didn’t. He didn’t fight him. Parker did. Parker beat Wilder. Parker deserves the credit not Joshua.

My trainer had this saying “Nothing beats a failure but a try”. Basically if you don’t try you failed per default. Joshua didn’t fight Wilder.

Parker did fight Wilder. Everything else that people got to say is just talk.

Now that fights apparently get made in Saudi I hope we get a lot of these high profile Heavyweight fights where everyone fights everyone. It really gets rid of all the posing.

He's in a much better position to get big fights than a year ago.

There was no good version of Stiverne. His best wins were a shot Arreola, Ray Austin, and Derick Rossy, lmfao. He was stopped by sub .500 fighter Demetrice King during his "prime".

Who do you have above Parker?

    For me:

    Usyk
    Fury
    AJ

That's kinda the point - it's possible to get to be a champion without having to be that good as long as you get lucky enough... And possible to stay one if you're matched up against cans.

Maybe but he was also supposed to lose to Wilder. Fights aren't won or lost on paper.

thus why guys like fury and wilder need to at least fight twice a year, not the once every 18 months or so they do now to mitigate the probability of losing.
