Fury got cut by Wallin and Wilder doesn't have a great chin but survived a 20 pound onslaught from Ortiz in their first fight

AJ takes full rounds off. I've never seen Wilder tired I've just seen him beat up there's a difference

Wallin might have a better chin than Wilder and Fury had an off night which happens to him a lot

I wouldn't call it special treatment but I understand where you are coming from

I wouldn't say he was hurt bad vs Parker. I think that's an exaggeration. I'd rate Wilders Chin a 7/10. Similar to Anthony Joshua

There's no way any version of Wilder would be able to take the punches AJ took from Wlad.

Joshua's chin is a solid 8 at least... Wilder's is more like a 5 or 6 - it's not quite glass, but it's certainly not iron.

Maybe because he's not that good?

Wilder definitely has a crappier chin than Joshua. He got flatlined by Fury who doesn't come close in punching power to Wlad, not to mention getting rocked by Molina and Parker. He does seem to have better recuperative powers though. He gets hurt and comes back into the fight a round or so later. When Joshua is hurt he needs a few rounds to get back to where he was.

I think they are both around 7. And I agree Wlad would've knocked Wilder out. Wilder chin is better than you are giving credit for. Think about it, considering how much he gets hit how often does he get dropped/hurt ?

That's a good distinction in which you may be right. Chin they are similar but in terms of recovery I would give Wilder a big edge

    I agree with this

Agreed Fury is so inconsistent. The talk about him being the greatest heavyweight of all time a few years ago was so hyperbolic.

With that said if he beats Usyk he's an atg

And how many murderous punchers has he fought?

    None.

Ortiz hits fairly hard, Parker the same, Fury a bit less - none of them bang like Joshua, Zhang, Whyte or Wilder himself.

That's the difference - they've both been rocked, but Wilder's been hurt more by less powerful punchers.

Joshua's chin is clearly the better of the two.

Outright chin Joshua's clearly tougher - Wilder recovers quicker from being wobbled.

If he legitimately beats Usyk then there's very little argument to the contrary.

I'd put Ortiz up there with the other big hitters of the division. He seems to have pretty heavy hands given the way he destroyed the quite durable Jennings and Thompson and totally rattled up Martin's brains with a single shot. Prime Stiverne was also a pretty heavy hitter, and I've always rated Helenius as a puncher (though he never landed anything against Wilder; would have been interesting to see the results if he had).

Otherwise yeah, zero big hitters. Molina? Arreola? They hardly qualify.
