He'd need 8 arms to keep Frazier off him

Its then 6'5 246lbs of muscle on top of Frazier, leaning down. Klitchko had a long reach and quick feet. Its not that easy to get through to him. Im sure he would eventually but hes eating a heavier jab then Ali ever gave him.

Ali gave away alot to be honest, Klitchko is pretty disciplined in holding the centre of the ring. Ali was keeping frazier off and trying to beat fraziers ass, not always nullifying Frazier like Klitchko would try to do.

Power punches to the gut would wear down Wlad faster than grapping and leaning would Frazier.
the problem would be lending that jab. Frazier was never eating jabs against Ali, he dodged most of them, and he’d have an easier time dodging wlad’s slower jabs.
It’s hard keeping the centre of the ring when none of your jabs are lending and you’re getting punched by leaping left hooks.

I think round 11 at the latest. Wlad will rock Joe badly a few times in this fight.

You guys are doing the same thing to Frazier that you (rightly so) call out people do to Mike Tyson. Overrating the hell out of his H2H ability with some sensationalist nonsense.

I was under the impression that the Classic Forum was one where people engaged in critical thinking and historical analysis to better appreciate old timers, not the forum where people mercilessly sucked off retired fighters by saying stupid **** like Joe Frazier effortlessly dodges every single jab and body punches Wlad at will with no resistance until Wlad dies in Round 5. Seriously guys what are we doing... That stupid Patterson obliterates AJ thread and now this.

"Wlad has never fought someone like Frazier". When has Frazier ever fought someone like Wlad?

6'6, 240lbs, 81 inch reach Wlad with ATG power, excellent strength, excellent hand speed for his size, ATG spoiling and an ATG matchup against shorter fighters vs the 5'11, 205lbs man with 73 inch reach? And some of you think Frazier dominates this match up whilst taking almost no damage? Jesus.

To be clear, I don't think Frazier winning is a ridiculous notion, but some of the arguments you guys are putting are for all intents and purposes just trolling. "Frazier throws a hard looping hook that connects upstairs with Klitschko's glass chin and wins", "12 users like your comment", the phuck?

Additionally, Foreman's holding and smothering of Frazier was one of the reasons he dominated Frazier like he did, and yet we're just going to act like Frazier would have no issues with WLAD's holding of all things? Ridiculous.

In my heart I say Joe.

Wlad is bigger, more powerful (at least more two-fisted power), and a better scientific boxer with jab and footwork.

But Joe has the volume and heart, and we know Wladdy don't like pressure.

I honestly see it either way but my heart says Joe.

This is a dramatic size difference and not that big of a boxing difference if at all. Frazier got hit on the way in, a lot - that’s what happens when you stay in punching range all night but he was elusive, a lot of the time though he didn’t counter off that movement he broke the distance weaving, without punching much or jabbing his way in or anything, he got close then started to work and I think Wlad would just shut him down octopus style when he got there. My impression of the fight is Wlad would just do too much damage to JF on the way in and trap Frazier in a pattern of being hurt and needing to recover by the time he gets into his working range.

So much written about how Wlad won't be able to take Frazier's punishment to the body but how will Joe fare against Wlad's ATG power in both hands to the head? Frazier was good defensively but he still took plenty of punishment against the best operators. He's going to get hit in this one. We can say you have to literally kill him but Futch will stop it before that as we full well know.

Who are the five biggest punchers Joe fought? It's fact that he fought barely any punchers and we know how the two Foreman fights ended up. Foreman was a helluva fighter tho and perfectly suited to pole axing Joe without much trouble at all every day of the week. He did bring things to the table that Wlad never would, that's for sure.

I'm just not convinced Joe can prevail against the two fisted power (allied to size) Wlad possesses. I mean with a strict ref Joe might be able to get low and smother him all night but there'd be little room for mistakes.

Wlad ties him up on the inside pops him a few jabs as he comes in, rinse and repeat in a boring fight until Joe gets hurt and taken out late. Imo

    In a nutshell, this.

Have people completely forgotten how Wlad fights? Little fighters are basically doomed, and Frazier would just about be the smallest Wlad would have faced. I mean Byrd was a clever defensive fighter with bodysway and we all remember how Wlad absolutely smashed him to bits. I don't buy for an instant that Frazier has power Wlad has never seen before. Wlad's style is tailor made for destroying aggressive small fighters that have to run the gauntlet of the jab, thunderous straight right and then the Dr Octopus treatment.

Frazier's only slim chance is if the ref docks a point of Wlad on the very first clinch and then warns him he's going to get DQ'd if he does it again.

Of course that might just force a shootout and I frankly doubt Frazier can even win that given that Wlad is one of the hardest HW punchers ever. We all saw what Wlad did to Pulev when Pulev went crazy with the pressure.

Also those of you that only remember Wlad in his fight with Fury or AJ should go back and watch his fights from 2004-2010. Wlad's hands were QUICK. Wlad likely has the fastest hands of any super heavyweight. The notion that Frazier would just matrix dodge his punches and that any punch that knocked him the **** out, he'd "just" get back up from is like I said borderline trolling.

Wlad wins this so easily I'm surprised it's up for debate. Size, power and technical ability are all on Wlad's side. Frazier gets his head jabbed off, and if Wlad starts connecting with straight rights then he ends it early. The only chance Frazier has is if the fight takes place in America and the referee has zero tolerance of clinching. That would force Klitschko to change tactics and take risks. Even then he's a strong favourite.

Doesn’t have the head movement, ring cutting, infighting skills, speed, stamina, workrate, timing, accuracy, or left hook. The only thing they have in common is chin and power, and Joe’s is better.
