The Lewis who fights Bruno faces the Rocky who destroyed Louis. Who takes this? If Rocky wins, his mother will make him pasta for the night If Lewis wins, his mother will cook him steak for the night
With Rocky Marciano in his crouch, his head at least a foot below Lennox's head, Lennox Lewis would feel like he is almost trying to reach down and punch the floor. That would make for a very interesting fight. With Rocky in close, Lennox would need to be careful not to low blow himself. Rocky would obviously be body punching a LOT. Even scoring an uppercut on Rocky's chin would be a problem for Lennox. Does he really want to lean down and put his own chin within easy reach of Rocky's right hand? This could go either way, in my view, and it would be fun to watch.
I said in an earlier post that Lewis would beat Muhammad Ali very easily, partly because of the size difference, so clearly I believe Lewis would beat Marciano very easily. David Tua was about the same height as Marciano, and Lewis had no problem punching down on Tua. Does Lewis want fries with that steak?
I don’t care which Lennox or which Rocky it is. Peak or over the hill. Lennox knocks Rocky out in one. With modern training and diet I’d bet Rocky could be trained for the Light-Heavyweight division. And there’s no way a potential Light-Heavyweight, and 5-10 with 60 whatever reach even gets close to Lennox. Rocky is way too overrated. If people would rate him correctly this wouldn’t happen. I don’t care what Ali said about him. That was just being respectful.
I hate picking against Rocky, ton of respect for him. But Lennox is gonna eventually beat him so bad, the ref has to say ENOUGH.
How difficult would it be for Marciano to land his right hand on Lewis' chin? "A crouching fighter has to come up out of that crouch to land ,and when he does ,you nail him." Jack Johnson.
Rocky, as entertaining as he was, doesn't beat any, ANY modern, ranked, over 215 pound, fighter, let alone Lewis. I just wonder when all this Marciano nonsens will stop. I have followed Marciano vs. this and that guy for years, and I can't stop to wonder about the fairytales and nonsens in terms of RM's chances vs. big, modern fighters. Ok, let's go, fellas! Rocky get's stopped in the first round after approx. 45 to 100 seconds, depending on the mercy the ref is going to show Marciano. We might as well discuss the welterweight champion from ca. 1950 against a prime Joe Frazier or Muhammad Ali.
