Also great clean fight, and what Boxing should all been. There was just 3 clinches for the whole 5 rounds. And to be fair Wallin landed no more than 3-5 clean shots to AJ. As far as Wallin interview, he grew on my eyes. He gave AJ credits, makes absolutely no excuses, and was really honest to be fair. His nose is broken/fractured, he already undergo surgery, but he will need another one. AJ messed him badly.
AJ's footwork is good but it's still slow and relatively static & when he gets tired he becomes a total sitting duck which is why a middleweight toyed with him and won't be able to toy with Fury. Wallin is too light hitting to be a top tier heavyweight. When you're a true heavyweight with a plodding Gassiev walking face first at you then you have to be able to get him out of there which he didn't. He boxed to a plan and didn't want to throw his overhand left much for some reason in that bout. Whyte is about as good a heavy Wallin could outbox over the distance but it would be hard fought and I fully expect that to be his next fight. Shame it didn't happen last year.
Is that why your girlfriend clinches and hold every single second of the fight with Wallin, h? Cause his footwork is so great, and they don't get tired? Or maybe cause he is beyond overrated? Is that why Fury was waiting and waiting to try to age Usyk out, and not fight him the first possible time, for the absolutely crown of the HW division ? AJ footwork at this stage is miles ahead of Fury, same for the cardio aspect, jab, speed, strength, power, explosiveness, pretty much anything.
Fury's footspeed and balance has regressed over the past number of years. One due to inactivity. Two due to style changes. Three because he's just got naturally bigger. But he's still unique and well ahead of all the other super heavys. and if Usyk is too slick, which he will be early doors Fury isn't going to stand there like a big dumb bodybuilder and let a midget outscore him for free.
Also classy when he speaks about his trainer's decision to pull him out. The contrast to Wilder couldn't be more striking.
Yeah he is so ahead, cause Frank is his promoter and his protector. Otherwise Fury would already have at least 2 loses into his resume. The only unique thing Fury has is he is cheating so hard, and he get hard pass, cause he is a big name, and Frank Warren protection. Fury in a clean sport would have 2 loses, and a couple of DQ loses as well.
Yeah absolutely zero excuse from Wallin. He grew in my eyes big time. Big respect for that interview. He could have hide, but he comes out and says the thing the way he sees it clearly. No b.c., no excusing, no blaming the ref, the corner, etc, etc. This is how you get better and improve. Acknowledge your mistake and try to grow on that.
So Wallin (Fury’s 3rd best win), is only as good as Whyte? Cool, good to see you starting to pick holes in the gypsy frauds resume.
