    Best boxer of this century for me. He could have 8 losses and I'd still say the same, Loma at his best is the best p4p fighter of the 2000s

    How do the Chocoholics feel about this for a compromise:

    JMM the #1 until 2008
    Chocolatito from then until 2016
    Ioka from then until now

    ...tied for #1 in the millennium so far? :deal:

    I feel like that captures their peaks more or less. (Ioka's overlapped with Chocolatito's but for the sake of argument I'm happy to make it an even three way divvy, eight years apiece)

    Those are good shouts for the nineties.

    For the previous decade I've got Hagler, SRL, Holyfield, Tyson, and Argüello and then for the bridge (late 80s to early 90s) it's definitely JCC followed by Cañizales and Finito. :thumbsup:

    I know neither is primarily known for combination punching but when they have their opponents hurt, Inoue & Crawford go Mortal Combat on finishing combos, accurate shot after accurate shot while not being defensively stoopid.

    What is the actual criteria we're judging on..................because for my likes I'd say Loma and Tevin Farmer. They throw some of the most aesthetically beautiful combinations......................................if a criterion has to include delivering ko shots.......obviously Farmer is out of the running, but as far as putting them together..............

    The other day's versus Josber Pérez? Yeah, absolutely.

    The book going in was that it wasn't supposed to be competitive unless Ioka looked shot. The fight subverted that altogether. Pérez fought very well - not enough to upset Ioka (who's still got it) but enough to show he belonged in a championship opportunity.

    And the finish was chef's kiss. (and case in point for my OP :sisi1)
