He's staying at 122 for a while right? He's going to mature at that weight and probably hit 130 in a couple years, maybe higher. Potential pacquiao-esque run? Too soon to tell

80-90% chance that he maxes out at 130, might grab a belt there but undisputed will be tough. I would be very surprised if he ever goes to 135

I remember after the Fulton fight he even said 130 is the max for him

He weighed 135.4 lbs against Tapales on fight day vs Tapales's 139.9 lbs

    30 years old

    122 in his prime

so yeah will max out at 130 in his mid 30's if he makes it that far

He's weighed in as a LWW for Tapales for I'd say WW is doable for him.

Very likely at the same age Pacquiao was already at 140 and KOing Hatton and at 144 and stopping Cotto. So the chances of him even going as high as 130 is no guarantee. Going from Light Flyweight to Super Featherweight would mean his career would span 7 divisions, how many fighters have even fought in that many divisions? He might very well just end his career at 126 and never even fight at 130.

He weighed 135lbs for Tapales so was walking in at lightweight, it was Tapales who weighed in at 140lbs and was a light welterweight.

Also even if he did walk in at 140lbs at some point in the future that doesn't mean he'd fight at that weight, he'd be facing LWW who were walking in at Light middleweight. He'd probably be campaigning at 126 or 130 if he walked in at 140. But I guess he could do what Pac did at Welter and just give up a lot of weight but even at 140 he'd fight at 135, so I can't see him ever doing 147.

Manny had a massive melon HW sized noggin and I wouldn't be surprised if he had a very thick or an abnormally thick cranium, with massive wrists and calves, and a stocky physique, a unique style, and weighed about 150lbs. Inoue has a more slender build with a more normal sized noggin. Same goes for Loma. I don't think Inoue could ever bulk up to 150 and be as effective. Maybe about 142 would be doable.

The problem I have, if Inoue can enter a ring healthy at 135, there's no reason he can't be fighting at LW.

Someone might argue he'd then be facing weight bullies, but by fighting down at SBW it makes him no better imo.

I just reject the premise that someone who can fight at 135 is too small for LW.

A few have tried this like Donaire and Rigo but totally got flattened.Well, Rigo quit vs Loma at 130.Pacquiao did it but with great difficulty going thru the mexican atg Marquez, MAB, Morales and Larios.Great champions.Looking at the featherweight and SFW landscape.I don’t see any names close to loma or marquez stature.Thankfully, for Naoya.Leigh Woods is beatable i think that would a good scalp.Beating Leigh Woods would be massive.Super fight right there.

Unlikely without PEDs. In his 30s and coming from 108, 126 would be max.

Right then we can hear all about how he was never really good from the Americans like how they say about Loma now while Huggy Haney gets included in FOTY & P4P discussions

    Thanks but no thanks

Also Inoue is the smaller guy at 122, so how is it weight bullying? Fulton had a couple of pounds on him & Tapales a good 4.5 lbs, Nery will also be bigger for sure considering all his weigh in misses in the past

At 118 I am sure all his opponents were bigger than him come fight time as well with McDonnell a ridiculous 144 lbs as I remember

So Inoue is around the same size as his opponents or somewhat smaller come fight time not like Haney who probably had a good 20 lbs on Loma on fight night

If you want 135 lb guys fighting at 135 lbs then bring back same day weigh in's

What is this poll all about? why didnt you just put 122, 126, 130, 135, 140? For the record i think his max out is 126

Most people fighting at LW are likely rehydrating 140+ just like most at SBW will weigh several pounds beyond 122lbs. How is that hard to understand?

Haney fight night weigh in against Loma was 165lbs+ at 135lbs..

135lb Inoue Vs 165lbs Haney..come on mate, use your head

He’s maxing out right now IMO. He’s 30YO and 5’5”. And NOT with a big frame by any standards. Doesn’t matter if he rehydrated to 135, that doesn’t make him a valid LW. That’s with food and a lot of water. He’d be facing guys at near 150 the night of the fight. Y’all can complain about weight bullies, but that’s NOTHING new to boxing.
