From a slightly different perspective, even though I'd rather Johsua was fighting Zhang or Hrgovic, I think Ngannou deserves the payday after putting Fury on his ass and arguably deserving the nod.

The Joshua that destroyed Wallin should be too sharp, but would be interesting if Frances connects to see whether AJ retreats into a shell

Imagine the IBHOF in 10, 20 years time? There’s going to be YouTubers, white collar boxers and all sorts being voted for.

It’s probably next after Ngannou fight and in fact don’t be surprised to see Hrgovic as the chief supporting bout.

Looks like Joshua just take his time now.
He got no reason to be hurry.
He wait to see how division will look after unification.

They still want beat ass of one Gypsy Queen but this fight cant be destroyed in many ways.

I dont blame Joshua. He always give us best opponents and best fight. That's why he lost in his carrer.
Ppl hate on him when he lose learn him excatly that there is no reason to do smth for others.

Ngannou is pretty smart move because again Joshua can show that he is better than fat Gypsy. If he win in good fashion. He should win but he also must remeber that this dude from MMA got really big punching power and there is not place here to make stupid mistake.

Please provide a source saying Hrgovic can't fight until the summer.

This guy had an iron chin in kickboxing. He literally had a war with Hunt after getting KTFO by this guy.

This fight could be for the WBC International Indigenous African Heavyweight World Championship. An idea Hrgovic and Zhang can rematch on the undercard for the IBF World title Belt with the winner to face AJ vs Ngannou winner.

Seriously picking ngannou is a bit of stretching reality since he should have similar chances in boxing aj would have in mma.

But i,m hoping ngannou will shock the world again !

If aj sparks him out hold - yes i will give aj credits for that performance .

MMA at championship level is 5 x 5 minutes. This will be 10 x 3 minutes, so not a huge difference.

Taking one to give one against Joshua isn't a terrible strategy: Ruiz pulled it off with aplomb. Ngannou's got more power than Joyce or Ruiz and Joshua doesn't have a Joyce chin or Fury's recovery. Ruiz and Ngannou scored KD's with a left hook counter to the temple.

Good cash generator for both and will probably be a great event.

At this point there is no real sporting endeavour in boxing, it's purely prize fighting so best of luck to them all.

Chester Hughes could punch: he put Tony Thompson down twice in the 1st round. Prior to Ortiz when Thompson was 44, aside from Hughes only Wlad dropped or stopped Thompson in 49 post-amateur fights and TT got to round 11 in the 1st fight.

Maldonado didn't have an iron chin in MMA (Stipe demolished him in 35 seconds with punches) but he went on to go the distance with some name boxers.

I doubt the elbow he took from Fury is anything remotely like the power AJ will deliver in a punch. As for the "roundkicks" Ngannou has taken in MMA I'd like to see them if you have any clips because I've not seen anything to suggest he's ever been hit like AJ can hit him.

Meh. They opted for the weakest link. Shame on you E-Hearn you big old Essex boy snake oil salesman. Big Bang of Hrgovic would've been much better. Have to give Ngannou a ton of credit for taking the fight given how he made his pro debut against the #2 ranked HW in the world and now in his second fight he's jumping right back in there against the #3 ranked one. Massive respect.

Be hilarious if Ngannou managed to defeat the odds and knocked AJ out, especially just to see the expression on E-Hearn's face. However, AJ will be the one who will be doing the knocking out here. Ngannou is as rigid as a statue and slow as a disabled tortoise climbing a steep hill, is too easy to hit, doesn't have the element of surprise anymore which is huge, and AJ will take him seriously and be too powerful for him.

Speaking as a Brit, the British media, especially the British boxing media, pundits, trainers, fighters etc. narratives surrounding AJ are often unbearable and of course from his army of fanboys on social media too and we're getting another round of it again after he defeated Wallin, a victory which is being treated like it's some ATG win over here by many:

    ''AJ is back''

    ''This is the old AJ''

    ''He looked incredible against Wallin''

    ''This AJ can beat anyone''

I've defended AJ loads but this stuff really does get tedious and nauseating. When he loses it's implied or outright stated that he only lost because of what he did wrong not what his opponent did right and for some strange reason he deserves unlimited rolls of the dice to achieve the desired result, even after he got his ass whopped x 2 when he had everything stacked in his favour, and his opponents only ever deserve one roll.

Gareth A. Davis was talking about the trilogy against Usyk the other day. He said it was justified because AJ looked amazing in the rematch for the first 9 or 10 rounds. No he didn't you absolute clown and even if he did he's lost comprehensively TWICE to the far smaller Usyk who had the decked stacked against him and the only controversy in those fights was the scandalous criminally close 7-5 Usyk scorecard in the first fight and the even more scandalous and criminal 7-5 in AJ's favour in the rematch. They wanted so desperately to rob Usyk but thankfully he made it almost impossible for them to do. AJ doesn't have to do enough to beat Usyk he just has to do enough to give the judges the opportunity to rob Usyk.

Yes, he looked good against Wallin but Wallin was picked for a reason - because he's not that good, he can't punch, he'd already lost x 2 to AJ in the amateurs, and because they'd sparred over 150 rounds together, rounds Richie Woodhall saw and said AJ was in control in them. But now the narrative is AJ is the greatest thing since sliced bread over here according to the media shills and many of those involved in the trade in whatever capacity, whether it be pundits, fighters, trainers etc. It's so off-putting
