I saw Zurdo's fight with Joe Smith Jr & he barely squeaked past

If he somehow wins this considering Briedis's long lay off & age, he is just food for Opetaia

I still find it amazing that people think Opetaia is going to beat Briedis so easily when Briedis broke his jaw and almost equal numbers of people thought he won the first fight.

Anyway, Briedis should take him out and get the rematch.

Finally someone who knows their boxing!

Jai won’t fight Mairis again after the jaw incident and I don’t blame him

    Briedis to stop Zurdo KO6

Consider Briedis's age, injuries, long layoff (1 thing recently proven is activity > inactivity) vs Opetaia's talent along with being young, hungry, active then yes I do expect a more decisive win for Opetaia, may be even a stoppage this time

Jai was looking forward to that fight & flew into London thinking that Briedis was what's on offer for Dec 23rd but Briedis said he wasn't ready & he got Zorro instead

After the IBF stripped him, he even started openly calling him out

Does that sound like a guy who is scared of a rematch?

Broken jaws are part of the game & if he was scared of that, he would have quit during the fight itself or showed tentativeness when Thompson landed a big right instead of coming back spitefully

Was ringside for the fight against Briedis... there was only one winner that night and deservedly Opetaia got the nod. To say he won't fight Mairis again is ludicrous. He wanted to fight him instead of Zorro!

The biggest loser in all of this so far from a monetary point of view is Briedis. He was getting healthy coin to "step aside" whilst injured and then a top payday to rematch Opetaia. Now he'll be facing Ramirez for whoever bids on it.

Even old man Briedis will likely knock Ramirez out.

Brutal KO coming up. Past prime Breidis gave new kid on the block a serious fight breaking his jaw. Breidis even more past prime would still wallop the cruiserweight division apart from Opetaia.

I think Breidis needs to try and get mikhaeleans title, a good fight r, then maybe a fight against Billam-Smith, who he would beat aswell.

Jai wanted to rematch Briedis but the later wasn't ready at the time. I think we will see it next if Briedis gets past Zurdo.

The one thing Briedis will have in his favour this time, as opposed to if Jai hadn't been stripped, is he will be the champ even if many consider Jai the true champ and he will have more pull trying to get Jai to travel over to Latvia if the Saudis don't want it over in Saudi that is which they likely will.

To be honest, I would like to see Jai travel to Latvia if Briedis wants it over there because Briedis did bring his belt over to Jai's backyard where everything was stacked against him for their fight. I'm a firm believer that you should rematch your opponent in their backyard if that's what they want if they traveled to yours for the first fight.

I don't like the but I'm the champ I get to call the shots now attitude if the former champ took their belt on the road and lost it in your backyard.

    A) All those factors were in full force for the firs fight.

    B) Consider the wear and tear on Opetaia. You can only have your jaw broken so many times.

Not saying Jai won't win, but a lot of peopel seem to think it will be some kind of cake walk.

    A) Briedis was younger at 37 & he fought in Oct 16, 2021 before fighting Jai on July 2nd 2022, that's not comparable to being 39 & being out of the ring for nearly 2 years whenever he next fights

    B) Right & its not like Briedis is for sure set to break his jaw again or anyone else's for that matter

I don't think it will be an easy fight for Jai, just a more clear cut win this time around compared to their first fight which was pretty close & I had Jai winning only by 1 point
