Feel like he may have been complacent here, was in against a huge puncher who gasses out after 5 rounds. This was his world title shot, his dream moment. Looked like he thought it was already in the bag wasn't alert enough early on.

I don't think it's possible to come back from a 1st round demolishing like that. If it had been a competitive war that had lasted for a few rounds then it would be a different story, but he got taken out in about 2 minutes. No promoter is going to give him any more big chances like that any time soon.

At 31 his career at the top level is done, if he wants a future in boxing he can be a decent gatekeeper for domestic talent rising through the ranks.

Wasn’t this lad favourite against Taylor!? Could never stand his attitude, haven’t seen anything of him for years he’s probably humbled now.

Mr Amir Khan came back from a more brutal 1st round KO and became a World Champion but I don't see this with Davies.

Josh Taylor took his soul and he has learned little from that fight.

If he used his ears a few years ago, he would have won last night.

I think he's done at world level. A few of my mates are close with him. He spars heavyweights. It's a shame he hasn't got the discipline. Alot of raw, natural talent but has come up short at world level. Maybe timings haven't been on his side.

Brain dead tactics. He’s fighting a bloke in his 40’s who’s legs have totally gone but still carries a bit of pop, yet tried trading from the off and started following him round the ring.

Amir Khan's KO against Prescott was simply on a different level with the shock factor.

Think Prescott was 100/1 to win that fight with Khan well on the path to World Titles.

That look on his face when he was down and the state of the legs when he got up had all the Khan haters doing star jumps for 60 minutes non stop.

He did very well to rebuild after that brutal confidence sapping KO and never thought he would win a World Title after watching that.

If he did get the call from TR I would stay well away from Ramirez if I was him. That would definitely be a career ending 12 round beating.

Yes agree it’s different. Warren had already turned down 3 offers for Khan to box unified champion Nate Campbell before he got destroyed by Prescott.

Davies couldn’t buy a title shot before this and won’t be able to now.

They are heavyweight gym guys. My point is, he messes around alot in training, doing things like that, when he should probably get his head down and train for fights properly.

He was managed so well, carefully avoiding punchers, until he simply had to face them (e.g Danny Garcia). But the way he rebuilt his career to get to a World title after that first round KO was incredible.
