I'd be very interested to see yours and everyone's scores for the controversial first Lockridge fight, another real compelling fight. @scartissue , @Saintpat , @Jel , how did you see that one. I'll try to dig mine up here in a bit.

I watched it live and remember thinking Rocky got robbed and that Eusebio probably should have been DQ’d, but also having a sort of grudging respect for Pedroza’s ability to bend and mold the rules as I have for many dirty fighters (not the Golota ‘I’ll punch your balls’ types, but the crafty ones).

I will try to revisit it sometime soon.

Rocky Lockridge vs Eusebio Pedroza 1

    1 Lockridge
    2 Lockridge
    3 Lockridge
    4 Pedroza
    5 Lockridge
    6 Pedroza
    7 Pedroza
    8 Pedroza
    9 Pedroza
    10 Pedroza
    11 Lockridge
    12 Pedroza
    13 Lockridge
    14 Pedroza
    15 Lockridge

    143-142 Pedroza

So i'm going through Pedroza's fights atm, this is my 1st time watching this fight. And i was excited to see it because i heard Lockridge was robbed.

IMO i thought the commentator's were bit biased towards Lockridge, and the ringside poll they were doing was also biased. Because it was Lockridge's hometown, so obviously the crowd aren't going to score it down the line.

I disagreed that Lockridge won the first 7 rounds, i thought Pedroza def won a couple of them rounds with his body punching. And after the 7th round i thought Pedroza mostly had the best of it. With the 14th round being close to 10-8, because Pedroza really dominated that round.

But after Pedroza having his best round of the fight the 14th, he didn't seem to have much left. And kind of sleepwalked through the 15th round, and i thought Lockridge stole that round. But it wasn't enough to swing it in his favour IMO.

I thought the fight was close and could of gone either, there were atleast 4 or 5 close rounds, which would of gone either way. And some of them could of been scored even, but i tend to avoid scoring even rounds.

Overall i think it may of got reputation of being a robbery, because of the awful score of 149-139 which was indeed ridiculous. But i still don't think having Pedroza as the winner was the wrong decision.

Been watching a lot of Hagler recently.

Am I the only one who thought he looked significantly worse against Roldan than he did Mugabi, which was supposedly cast iron evidence of him being well past his best?

Sal, this was my score when I viewed it:

Eusebio Pedroza v Rocky Lockridge I (featherweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Lockridge
    Round 2: 10-9 Lockridge
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Lockridge
    Round 6: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
    Round 8: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 9: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 10: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 11: 10-9 Lockridge
    Round 12: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 13: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 14: 10-9 Pedroza
    Round 15: 10-9 Lockridge

    145-143 Pedroza

Very close fight, but Pedroza was fortunate to have the WBA's house referee Stanley Christodolou working that fight. There are many referees who would have taken points from Pedroza for those repeated low-blows. Christodolou just repeated throughout 'keep them up', which was pointless. Still, great fight.

    @salsanchezfan @scartissue

I thought the 2nd fight was even closer and even more debatable.

Eusebio Pedroza vs Rocky Lockridge 2

    1 Even
    2 Lockridge
    3 Pedroza
    4 Lockridge
    5 Pedroza
    6 Pedroza
    7 Lockridge
    8 Pedroza
    9 Lockridge
    10 Lockridge
    11 Lockridge
    12 Pedroza
    13 Pedroza
    14 Lockridge
    15 Pedroza

    143-143 Draw

So this fight was the polar opposite of the 1st meeting, Pedroza was alot more competitive in the early rounds. And Lockridge was alot more competitive in the late rounds, very tough fight to score there was alot of inside fighting. And the quality of the video i watched wasn't the greatest, so i did have a hard time scoring the close rounds at times. I felt like Pedroza did lay on the ropes far too much though, and let Lockridge outhustle him in quite of the few later rounds.

Overall i thought it was alot tougher to score than the 1st meeting, and i thought maybe Lockridge had a better case for winning the rematch than he did the 1st fight.

D, I recall watching this live and feeling the same way as you. That Rocky deserved the rematch. I haven't watched it since because I didn't think the film had the best quality. But I'll give it a whirl sometime this week.

Mark Kaylor v Delroy Parkes ABA Middleweight Final 1980
Good fight Kaylor in control for the first 2 rounds before an eventful 3rd round.Parkes ups his game and then Kaylor has a point deducted for holding only for the same to happen to Delroy for use of the head.In the final 15 second Mark knocks Parkes to the floor and wins a unanimous decision.Interesting to note that Parkes lost the previous years final to another favourite of mine Herol Graham

Oh, I think there's merit to that.

In fact, Hagler's uneven performance against the admittedly tough and awkward Roldan combined with Mustafa Hamsho's good form going into their rematch led some to believe that their second fight would be far more competitive than their first contest.

Roberto ducked Harry Potter. Duran never declared it publicly but he clearly drew the Muggle line.

How many rounds did we even give Mugabi? I thought Hagler was well ahead at the time of the stoppage and looked pretty good.

He looked like crap against Roldan and may have been in trouble had it not been for the cut.

Fighters have off nights and/or struggle with certain styles sometimes. *Shrugs*.

I thought Hagler was well ahead against Mugabi, but he didn't look good. His usually sharp punches were very looping and wide, and his feet weren't getting him out of the way as nimbly as he had been able to.

Nice to see you again, Addie!
