The Lou Savarese who lost a split decision to George Foreman would give Joshua,Zhang, and Hrgovic a very tough night's work.

I agree, big Lou was always game, willing and in there to box & fight... unlike a lot of the Giants who are pretty selective and Unwilling!

The ghost of Mike Tyson emptied him savagely in round one. I think AJ would leather him lopsidedly

Hrgovic, Zhang, i'm not sure about because they're still very untested for me, but i think Joshua would be too explosive and would KO him within 7 rounds.

You got to remember after Foreman KO'ed Moorer in 1994 he never stopped another opponent, a fighter like Crawford Grimsley was going the distance with Foreman around the sametime he fought Savarese.

The likes of David Izon KO'ed Savarese in 5 rounds just after the Foreman fight.

I would agree 'IF' AJ liked to fight, however more often than not, he demonstrates 'over' caution & reluctances.

where as Lou seemed to engage in a fight and this would cause AJ to fall into pattern.

    Lou beats him.

I don't think so Izon KO'ed Savarese in 5 rounds straight after the Foreman fight, and Michael Grant handily beat Savarese.

Joshua is a level above Savarese and would stop him by the middle rounds.

Why is he a level above, who has he fought with any manner of convincing that he or his opponents were stronger than the level of Lou's Top Opponents???

just because you are a Giant fighting Giants, who P4P are lesser fighters than previous normal size HW's, why should we give them, the Giants, the nod?

I think you have missed the point, the Klits ARE Giants and yes, Lou is at the last inch of the 'normal' size HWs...

But, no one will argue that BIG Fighters 'usually' beat smaller fighters, no argument.

but smaller fighters, can, do and have beaten 'lesser' Bigger Fighters and AJ has shown more often than not, he is a 'lesser' Giant.

could he, should he beat Lou, absolutely,

but he could easily be beaten too by a Savarese always willing type HW (normal size).

I would favour Whyte, Parker, old Wladimir, Povetkin, Takam, over Savarese.

Also you're saying top opponents he lost to a 47 year old George Foreman who hadn't stopped an opponent in 3 years, and a faded Mike Tyson blew him away in 1 round.

Savarese was never able to step up and beat a top 10 ranked fighter, and against some of other notable Heavyweights he lost to Izon and Grant in one sided fashion.

Well Savarese was 6'5 240 pounds so really if he was bigger than most Heavyweights, then surely he should've been able to make more of an impact against on average smaller Heavyweights ?

I don't really see why you would favour Savarese over Joshua who's clearly a level above.

Savarese doesn't have any wins on his record that would back up the original statement in this thread. I don't dispute his courage or effort - it's his quality as a boxer that falls short.
