Smith will have some early success but once Artur finds his range, then "Mundo" gets stopped against the ropes. I still can't get out of my head Smith, despite his height, weight and reach advantages v Canelo cowering away from him for 12 Rounds. Bivol showed how you deal Clenelo. If he cannot handle Canelo, then he is going to be in a world of pain v Beterbiev.
The absolute brass neck on Hearn doing interviews with anyone who'll listen taking sly digs at the Beterbiev 'findings' "I'm not a scientist" but cleared Benn on the basis of tears in his office.
I seen the thumbnails. Personally never listened to one of his interviews just talks a load of bollocks and I'm surprised he's not a Tory MP as he'd fit right in with the silver spooned corrupt shower. I thought the same though how can you have the gall to talk about drug testing when two time drug cheat on your books isn't even prepared to take the consequences and you are enabling it Also noticed the amount of shilling for Benn is unreal and they don't hardly mention it ridiculously talking about who he should fight next. No scruples at all these people Anyway only way Smith wins this is if Artur gets old which is what they are banking on.
A lot of emphasis for the argument against Smith is being put on the Canelo fight, I can see why of course, but he took the fight on what 4 weeks notice and making super middle at that time was clearly taking away from his performance... look how flat he looked against John Ryder beforehand. He's looked excellent up at 175 so far and still looks huge at the weight... baffling how he ever made 168. He's carried one punch knockout power up in weight as well. Yarde was giving Beterbiev all he could handle in there fight and continuously got hit. Beterbiev is a phenomenal fighter with bludgeoning power yes but not this indestructible machine some would like to make out... he can be hurt. Callum Johnson and Smith were gym mates under Gallagher when Johnson put Beterbiev on the seat of his pants so they'll have done there homework. I think Smith has the tools and the power to stop Beterbiev this weekend but whatever which way it goes, it's a fantastic fight and may the best man win.
I don't but the 4 weeks notice excuse. Every man and his dog knew that they were gonna fight months beforehand. You aren't telling me Smith left it till 4 weeks before he started to prepare for the fight
Don’t often make confident and bold statements but Smith is hurting and stopping him. Wouldn’t be surprised if early either.
Smith is so inactive, and best win is against a one armed George groves. Got battered by canelo, and lost to Ryder. Smiths camp is banking on beterbiev being significantly over the hill. if smith doesn’t stop him in the first half of the fight, I think he ends up getting beat up and stopped 9-10.
Really good fight. It hasn't got the attention it warrants. I cannot see it going past 5 rounds, because both fighters are tailor-made for each other. Both are huge punchers, both are not the hardest to hit (lack head movement.) Smith is upright and open to the over hand right (huge weapon for Beterbiev.) Beterbiev squares up and is open to the left hook (Big strength of Smith's.) Both are really good in the pocket and are rusty. These are reasons I think it goes early and could go either way. If Smith had another fight between his last and this I would have made it 50/50 60/40 in his favour. As it is I have it 60/40 in Beterbiev's favour. I hope Smith does it. Think Bivol beats them both.
Not if it's the same boxer who faced Canelo. Fancy being a weight bully for years then fighting like a ***** for 12 rounds against a smaller guy
I think smith beats him. I mean what’s he getting paid for this? 1-2M maybe? Smiths taking this fight as he can see a way to win. Smith could earn that with 2 easier fights if he wanted. Daft logic on my behalf I know I’m not even a smith fan I was gutted when he beat groves. I just don’t see Beterbiev as the elite fighter people say he is. He’s not on the level of Canelo or Bivol. He’s a slow version of Kovalev.
