Surprised Fury hasn't demanded a smaller ring to cut down on leg work chasing Usyk.

I think Fury wins a scrappy fight by using every horrible tactic in the book he needs to

As a brit I hope he wins as I always support a brit.

I'm assuming it's going to be 20ft x 20ft although Beterbiev negotiated 18x18 for the fight last night

I’ve said from the beginning, the choice of referee for this fight is going to be make or break for either fighter.

No doubt John Fury will bark his fat head off if the ring is a centimetre too big or too small

Why aren't all boxing rings standard?

They are in Nevada, the atlhetic commission dictates 20 feet and particular padding / ring apron size... shame not everywhere follows that.

Don’t think the referee will matter. Nor will ring dimensions. Usyk is knocking the Gypsy King spark out.

Suppose it's more like football pitches.

Wouldn't be allowed in snooker however

I know but football pitches are the individual team’s home pitch. Their right to pick what suits them because everyone will play there and everyone will play everywhere else.

In boxing someone could get one shot at winning something worthwhile and changing their life with money. Only for the money man/promoters fave or ‘home’ fighter gets a big advantage. I don’t think it’s right myself.

Been a couple of fights down the years where as soon as i start watching the undercard I’ve changed my opinion based on how the ring looks. Can’t think of some off the top of my head but I knew Groves was massively up against it in Wembley long before the walks.

That ring for Froch Groves 2 couldn’t have been more than 16ft, it looked absolutely tiny, I remember Paulie Malignaggi noticing it straight away and Jim Watt sort of passing it off, saying how Groves didn’t run in the first fight, that wasn’t the point, as soon as Groves took a few steps back from engaging he was up against the ropes, which is ultimately what got him knocked out, throwing a left hook when on the ropes and getting caught down the middle. I think Groves was just so confident of beating froch he’d have took the rematch in a phone box, and it didn’t seem like he had anybody around him to make sure he didn’t get shafted over with ring sizes etc, he got much less money than he deserved too. Froch had it off that night
